Caerdydd prediction thread

by floyd__streete » 07 Nov 2010 15:09

Just watched Cardiff vs Swansea on BBC, a hugely disappointing welsh derby. The first thing which struck me (and was alluded to by the commentators) was the thoroughly drab-sounding atmosphere for what the locals assure us is a highly charged game. Perhaps the Ninian-effect has long since been lost for Cardiff now that they have moved into a comfortable all-seater like ourselves. I am sure that their knuckle-draggers will still be out in force for Wednesday, mind.

Cardiff still look a nasty side under that shifty whinger Dave Jones. Chopra should have gone for a poor two-footed challenge and he flared up later in the game like the chopsy twat he always has been, I hope that Mills snaps him in two on Wednesday. As lethargic and ordinary as they looked today, Cardiff still seem to have far too much quality and - just as importantly given our sloth-like back four - pace for Reading with their ludicrous open-cheque-book policy. Could be a big defeat for us because they will be particularly fired up after losing today, but I shall revise my 0-6 prediction after yesterday to a far more modest-sounding 0-2.

Boothroyd returns Wednesday night and I can't see how our defence will cope against him, Chopra and Bellamy.

0-2

0-3

Despite Long's effort yesterday, I just can't see us getting past their defence.

(cue a 2-0 win by us or something - but I'll be happy to take the flak in that case!)

I predict lots of intimidation of children, so my son stays at home.

They lost today, Reading are exactly the club you want to play to get things back on track.

1-3 after being 0-3 up.

Will Cardiff play as badly on Wednesday as they did today? I think not! 3-0 to the Bluebirds.

He has got a streak in him, can't hold his temper and mis times loads of challenges. At fault for two of Donny goals and mugged repeatedly by Hulse yesterday, I'd say Pearcy is unlucky at the moment not to be starting...and HRK? WTF yesterday? Some of the crosses were diabolically long.

I have to say that the last game I went to, Pearce was head and shoulders above Mills.

Cardiff clearly missed Bothroyd today but i had expected more of them. Chopra should be renamed 'Chopdown'.

If Cardiff are as lacking in fluidity against us I can see us coming away with something, so I am prepared to predict a 2-0 win for the Royals.

Although Brendan failed to achieve anything in his short time at Reading, he obviously has a talent as a coach and I can see Swansea being near the top come May next year. Should they be promoted, however, they would struggle.

If they play at their best Cardiff will do us 3-0 or 4-0, but their defeat today may have helped us
and they'll be a tad nervous.

But then they have Bothroyd back...

Despite the slowness issue, I'd like to see Pearce get his chance (doubt it will happen)

I think we'll either be tanked, 3-0 or 4-0, outplayed like we were at QPR, or be feisty and nick it 1-0 with another Long goal
