The big, BIG, difference being that most of Doyle's goals came in the premiership.

BIG Fail!

Doyle scored
19 Goals for RFC in the Premiership
37 Goals for RFC in the Championship

Now when was ONE THIRD "Most of Doyle's goals?

If you're going to pick at the edges of my stats, get the centre of yours right.

It took me nearly 20 seconds to check how much you were wrong.

Also, a lot more of Long's goal have been scored when he's come off the bench, which you so passionately argue when the conversation turns to whether Church should start instead of Long are not as significant

What do you mean by a lot more? Do you mean a high percentage of Long's goals were as a sub? Are you sure?

He may have STARTED as super-sub, but that changed YEARS ago.

01 20 LATE SUB Derby 2-2 31/12/05
02 89 Start, Cup Birmingham 1-1 28/1/06
03 22 LATE SUB 1 Derby 5-0 1/4/06
04 22 LATE SUB 2 Derby 5-0 1/4/06
05 90 Start, Cup Liverpool 3-4 25/10/06
06 90 Start, Cup Burnley 3-2 9/1/07
07 73 Start Sheff Utd 3-1 20/1/07
08 80 Start Wigan 3-2 30/1/07
09 14 LATE SUB Portsmouth 4-7 29/9/07
10 7 LATE SUB Newcastle 2-1 27/10/07
11 82 Start Man City 2-0 8/3/08
12 65 On in 25th Burnley 3-1 4/10/08
13 10 LATE SUB Norwich 2-0 13/12/08
14 90 START Southampton 1-1 28/12/08
15 13 LATE SUB Sheff Wed 2-1 3/3/09
16 90 START 1 Charlton 2-2 10/3/09
17 90 START 2 Charlton 2-2 10/3/09
18 90 START Derby 2-0 21/4/09
19 90 START 1 Norwich 2-0 27/4/09
20 90 START 2 Norwich 2-0 27/4/09
21 39 LATE SUB Liverpool 2-1 2009-10
22 90 START Barnsley 1-0 2009-10
23 90 START Doncaster 2-1 2009-10
24 90 START 1 Plymouth 2-1 2009-10
25 90 START 2 Plymouth 2-1 2009-10
26 90 START 1 Villa 2-4 2009-10
27 90 START 2 Villa 2-4 2009-10
28 90 START Derby 4-1 2009-10
29 90 START Peterboro 6-0 17/4/10
30 90 START Palace 3-0 2010-11

31 90 START Burnley 4-0 2010-11
32 90 START QPR 1-3 2010-11

So Just 8 of LONG's 32 Goals were as a sub, 7 of those 8 were before March 18 months ago.

Apart from winning the penalty at Anfield, and then scoring the winning header, 17 of the last 18 goals scored by Shane Long were as a starter

Doyle did not score 37 championship goals you complete mong.

 Yeah, he got 36.

So does that mean most of his goals came in the Premiership then?

36, I make it. Which makes sense as he only scored 55 league goals for us.

I'll let Snowball off that one, as it's only one goal, and as he still thinks that a 15% swing in the accuracy of statistics represents 'a good rule of thumb'.

Yet again the lack of attention to detail is shown up in Snowballs stats........

He was still wrong. His total was 36 as one of his goals in first season was scored in the cup.

And of course it still doesn't change the fact that Doyle is 10000000000x the player Long will ever be.

No Probs, Win

In that one season alone he scored as many goals as in two seasons in the Prem.

And none of our exes have scored well in the Prem for other clubs, have they?

Shane has 3 Years 4 month's of improvement in him to be where Doyle is.

Born 18-09-1983 - Kevin Doyle
Born 22-01-1987 - Shane Long

So Shane is 3 Years and 4 Months YOUNGER than Doyle (and has 3 Yrs 4 Months to improve to where Doyle is now)

Looking at League Form, as Doyle's Cup form for us was not good.

13 in 28 (4) 2006-07 VERY GOOD!
06 in 34 (2) 2007-08 POOR, has to be said
08 in 33 (1) 2009-10 1 Goal in every just over 4 games
00 in 10 (0) 2010-11(Hmmm barren run, must be catching?)

27 in 105 (7) almost exactly one goal every 4 Starts in the Premiership

Shane's Premiership was

01 (10) 3 Premiership Goals 2006-07 EDIT
09 (10) 2 Premiership Goals 2007-08 EDIT

10 (20) 5 Goals (3 Goals When Starting, 2 Goals as a Sub) So Shane has scored (10/3) 1 in 3.33 games when starting!!!

His total Premiership Minutes were 2121 (All Minutes) - 558 (558 Cup Minutes, 2 Cup Goals) a goal every 279 minutes or 3 games.

= 1563 Minutes (17.36 Games) for 5 Premiership Goals = 312 .5 Minutes per goal = A goal every 3.47 Premiership Games

Of course it's a small sample, but the boy is 3 years , 4 months younger than Kevin
and so far he's not far off matching the goal-scoring rate, is he?

He's actually BEATING Kevin's Premiership goal-scoring

Oh Dear, Win! So you argue that 19 is more than 36, not argue that 19 is more than 37.

As the cup win was against WBA ant they were in the Prem at the time, I'll let you call it a goal against a Premiership side. How's that?

20 Goals 35.71 % ----------- v Premiership Opposition (RFC)
36 Goals 64.29% ------------ NOT against Premiership sides

Long's Figures are:

10 Goals 31.25% ----------- v Premiership Opposition
22 Goals 68.75% ----------- NOT

I LOVE seeing these comparisons, especially as Long is 3 Years 4 Months younger than Doyle and can still improve.

Of course you are also ignoring that Doyle spent a fair amount of the 2nd prem season out on the wing.

Again you seem to think I want the stats to show Long in bad light and for the umpteenth time I don't care. I just wish you would make sure your stats are ACCURATE.
