ruly amazed at the lack of football knowledge and appreciation on this thread.

The Rangers approach against Man Utd in both games has been a master class in modern football. When you face a team with so many more monetary, technical and player resources it would be absolutely ridiculous to 'go for it'. Defending and stopping the opposition is every bit as important an aspect of football as being Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

For a club that doesnt have enough players to fill their bench in a CL match, with 9 homegrown players from a small footballing nation, to take Man Utd, a real Euro creme de la creme club, to within 180 minutes of shared spoils is a master class of football effort, tactics and managerial guile. If you cannot appreciate that - and think Rangers should have gone hell for leather - then you know nothing about football. Nothing.

Dylan - I'd agree with your sentiments. I have no time whatsoever for Rangers as a club, but I have the highest reegard for Walter Smith and what he can get a very limited set of players to do.

Great post, posters like jumpers for goalposts & Mr Optimist should have tuned in to another game if they don't appreciate performances like that, not just them but for the general footballing population and pundits who have commented in recent months about rangers playing " negative" football. Perhaps they would like to give us a couple of hundred million so we can compete and play the attractive stylish football they all crave?

For some reason i watched the game again today. Dull as fcuk.

Utd were poor (I'm a Utd fan) and were pretty much left to stroll
round the midfield.

Actually I consider myself to know a fair bit about football. I just stated that it was God awful to watch, and unless you're a Rangers fan, you're not really going to appreciate it.
