floyd__streete Very much a :| draw during a :| season so far, really. Could have been worse, could have been a lot better. At least it is at home.

What I find curious and a little bit frustrating is how often Reading draw the same bloody teams in the cups; remember Peterborough 3 seasons running in the Carling Cup? We've drawn Birmingham in successive seasons in the recent past, ditto Swansea. WBA will visit for a third FA Cup tie at the Madj in 6 seasons. We never played Liverpool in any competition until we got to the Premier League and then we couldn't stop drawing the buggers in every competition going.

And not forgetting that we were also drawn away to them a few years ago (a very snowy day I remember!)

You have also forgotton the number of times we seemed to get drawn against Walsall - or is it just that those terrible, terrible games have played tricks with the memory??

Shame about this, although its better than playing another Championship team I suppose.

Not too confident of getting a result, since we beat them in last years competition they have strengthened and we have regressed. We'll need to pull out a big performance to get anything out of the tie.

Couldn't imagine a more boring draw from the Premiership sides than this one. West Brom yet again and one team that will be really anxious to put the record straight and not get caught out again. This is the Reading transfer policy of FA Cup draws.

Agreed. I could imagine 1-2 or maybe 2-2 here and then losing 3-0 up there

But then it IS the cup and we'll be on a good winning run by then.

Regarding that away game IIRC Shane Long and a few other non-regulars played that day and we felt cheated as fans as Reading were going well at the time and could have progressed in the competition.
Still, playing Long game him the experience to go on and be our best ever striker.
I really do love you Shane.
