Not based on starting appearances its not. if you include the times he's come on as sub its 1 in every 4. If its based on starting appearances only its 1 in 3.

57 (31) (62.2) 26 Goals 2006-10 Championship
12 (04) (09.6) 03 Goals 2006-10 Cups

66 (44) 71.8) 29 Goals Playing for CCC clubs a goal every 2.47 games, two seasons for relegation sides

Overall record 86 (45) = 93.5 Games 46 Goals = 1 in 2

Thank-you Snowball. Better than I gave him credit for and as I've said a very creditable scoring record....won't stop the moaners on here slagging him off when he doesn't score each time he has a chance.

Peple will slag him off because he's not an expensive signing. But AFAIC what counts is how effective he is, not how much he costs.

IMHO i don't think we'd be getting him this cheap if it wasn't for Plymouth's financial troubles, we'd be looking at Charlie Austin money. Plymouth fans are getting a bit angry about £300,000 on social networks tonight

Agreed. Doyle, Long, Shorey, Ingimarsson, Sonko, Little, Oster, Kitson etc were cheap/free, yet the Sean Evers, Emerse Fae's of the world cost a near fortune and were awful for us.

Cost doesn't mean a player will be a success or a failure. His ability and workrate will determine that.

Judging by BWP's scoring record this is a good signing. Now he needs to bed in and work hard and continue improving, and under Brian McDermott I have every faith he will.

They need to realise how close they are to losing their football club then. I agree had they not been in this financial mess then yes, they could be looking at seven figures, but that's the cost of not running your football club properly.

Hang on Snowball. I was arguing Church's record is better than 1 in 4 not BWP. Never mind.

Oh yeh 100%. Argyle fans i guess with the kneejerk reaction to their star striker leaving for a fee that he is worth a lot more than. Of course completely benefiting RFC, if you're one of the people that doubt BWP because of a so called 'criminal' record

Saints fans are very mixed in their views on BWP.
They were the same concerning Rasiak.
He has played well against us in the past and at £300,000 compares very favourably with Hunt who we spent about £700,000 on and never lasts more than about 60 minutes.
Good to see the club doing something and listening to Brian McD it sounded very much like a done deal.
At least we will now have 4 strikers which surely is the bare minimum unless we decide to let Church go.

Interesting to read Plymouth's supporters views on this move. Most agree £300k is good considering their financial situation, other short minded fans say it's disgusting. Others claim he's better than SWP which basically sums up their judgement.

Interesting to note that Brian McDermott was at the Bristol Rovers match recently to, they thought watch our on loan keeper, but clearly it was mainly to take a look at BWP.

Agreed, but with limited finances ourselves we get a quality break up midfielder and top goal scorer from league one.

A fruitful January transfer window for once.

I'm confused why Blackpool apparently didn't get him for £500,000 but we get him for £300,000.

If he has put his old behaviour problems behind him and grown up a little then I think this is a good signing. Cheap, he has been improving lately and is in his best ever goalscoring season.

It's a typical cheap Reading gamble. We've seen it work with Doyle, Hunt, Sonko, Long (at last), Kitson and Shorey amongst others. We've also seen the likes of Mooney, Bennett, Long (for a long time) where maybe it hasn't been so successful.

All I would say is that BWP has more in common with the good list; he's been brought in to challenge for a place instantly instead of being a prospect for the future.

This seems odd as Holloway apparently only offered £20,000 so not sure where the figure of £500,000 has come from.

Blackpool offered the club a five figure fee.

BBC say £20-30,000 so i dont know where this figure of £500k has come from. Plymouth's court date is only for £500,000 so would accept that in a heart beat and BWP is the sorta guy where if a Prem team comes in, he goes

See above your post. The BBC report must be a typo I would think. Surely Blackpool didn't expect to get BWP for 20K. That's ridiculous.
