Pseud O'Nym According to the audited accounts:

Season, Turnover, Pre-tax Profit (in millions)

2007/08, 57.698, 6.706

2006/07, 49.909, 6.573

Total turnover while in the Prem = £107.607m. Since relegation we've received 23m in parachute payments. No "extra" 140m there.

And the key word is "extra" - that means over and above revenues we could have expected had we not been promoted.

So come on andrew1957 - please provide your breakdown AGAIN of this "extra" £140m.....

Could we have the previous two years turnover as well for us hard of basic arithmaticers.

79Royal I can't claim to know...well, anything about running a football club...but I'm fairly certain we have shareholders. And if we have shareholders and Madejski WAS pocketing all of the available cash, wouldn't they all be kicking off about a lack of dividends? :?:

the accounts show Madejski is not pocketing the available cash and those are available to shareholders and as many on here have pointed out non-shareholders by various means.

FYI I am not sure which decade RFC last paid a dividend and it is not likely in the near future as you need accumulated profits as dividends have to be paid out of profits. The accumulated losses are down to 'only' £6.5 million so RFC needs to make a fair more years profits before one can even me contemplated.

Andrew you are again using techical words in ordinary ways and so get into an arguement. Income in your terms is actually turnover as income is generally used in accounts as turnover net of certain costs so although the turnover has been over £100 million the club has also had increased expenses that negate most of that increase. It is very hard to put people right on these points without sounding patronising - I have no intention to be but am pointing out that some people are using words with much more specific meanings than you are hence you can seem at cross purposes.

Good point. As an example Andrew only seems to accept investment if it is money spent on incoming player transfer fees (which are often incorrect in the press anyway). He harps on about his business rather a lot now but with his over simple attitude to finance perhaps he should be inspecting the books of that more closely to avoid future problems.

I reckon I can get to around £90m extra turnover over the last 4 seasons prior to this one on the assumption that we're obviously subtracting an additional ammount for the last two championship years in line with those two prior to our promotion.

When you then factor in massive increases in costs, which did not then drop straight back to the levels of pre-promotion seasons, it seems to me fairly easy to see where the money has gone. it's gone on paying for stuff like wages and keeping the club running.

Or am I reading this all completely wrong?

2008/09 25716k profit 4151k but was loss of £8 million before profit on player trading of £12 million

2009/10 27665k profit 2371k profit 2015 plus on player trading £355k

These figures are RFC only not the consolidated figures with the hotel as they are much more relevant to the figures banded about on here,

The 2 figures on profit from players trading may indicate that the ideas of the large amount of money available from transfer fees up to June 2010 are not accurate. There was a good surplus in 2009 but not 2010. This may be for a whole host of reasons but anything i post would be speculation and so may be plain wrong.

I still cannot see where RFC have said that the money is not there?

It may not be used, but for all purposes any money from the sale of Siggy could well still be available. And the club have never said different.
