brendywendy liegertwood was an improvement that filled no obvious hole
and thats what the sig transfer did, enabled him to do what he wanted to imporve the team(within reason)

I felt that Leigertwood filled the hole left by Gunnarsson.

i suppose that may be valid

Not unhappy with this signing if it goes through. I wonder though whether the ever righteous Reading crowd will boo BWP like they did that other notorious trouble-maker Marlon King the other

facaldaqui By the way, Ian Wright seems to be as popular with Hobnobbers as Angela Rippon is with viewers of Dancing on Ice. So let me say that I like him. He can be a little irritating, like an excitable schoolboy, and he's no TV presenter--but I admired his commitment and character as a player, and I loved it when he was a member of the commentary team for England matches, providing passion and comedy value (though not penetrating analysis, admittedly).

Bradley seems like a nice boy in the same vein. Despite some scrapes, he's not guilty of any crimes, other than that of playing for Southampton.

Ok, so after my initial anger and dissapointment, I have decided that yes, everyone deserves another chance. I just wish Reading would go back to the Steve Coppell days of being one of the most honest and morally respected teams in the football league. We now seem to regularly dispute referee decisions, dive in the box and employ a guy who did this:

Having said that, I do wish the lad luck, will cheer his name on his debut and hope that his stupid behaviour is a thing of the past. My sister who has met him quite a few times says he's very polite and a really nice guy, maybe he's turned over a new leaf

Look, I'm pretty sure that if he'd killed someone or mugged an old granny, McD wouldn't want anything to do with him. He's had all charges against him dropped and, as far as I know, he's not been in any kind of trouble for the year or so - so can we, please, just give him the benefit of the doubt and welcome him with open arms?

And a +1 for liking Ian Wright btw.

More than likely a young scruff with little better to do with his afternoon, but someone who calls themself 'Royals Trainee' has commented on the Yahoo transfer updater:

Bradley Wright-Philips was completing the second part of his medical at the Madejski Stadium this afternoon as we left. We've heard Simon Cox is also wanted on loan but West Brom would prefer a sale. Reading offered Swindon £800,000 plus Dave Mooney but they believe they can get £2m so we told them where to go.

What's Swindon got to do with it? I thought he'd signed for West Brom.

Snowball Thing is at Blackpool you have put the work in, you can't just
promenade around and think that one or two fancy passes are
illuminations that will con the supporters. Do that and you'll
be in the C-side before you know it.

It's not the best stadium in the world but it is a fair ground
but as someone has already said, every season will be a bit
of a rollercoaster.

Over the years they've had a few donkeys there as well.

Er, Snowy, I think you'd better get back to the statistics.

That Friday Feeling
PistolPete employ a guy who did this:

Stood in a doorway?

Yep, laughing while his mate steals phones and money etc.

Look, as I said I'm ready to cheer him and give him a clean slate for his time at Reading but lets not kid ourselves that he was 'not guilty' in the whole affair. I don't think I'm some kind of saint for saying that I would have walked away from it rather than standing on the lookout laughing!

My mate once got done for criminal damage after throwing various milk bottles, signs, etc., over the railway yard fence as we walked along Caversham Road after seeing a punk band in the Target. I can't remember being aghast. When the police arrived we hared it down towards the river and were captured in a pincer movement Starsky and Hutch fashion. I wasn't charged, but does that evening make me a bad person? My mate, by the way, is now executive editor of a Tory newspaper, so, unlike me, he never straightened out.

he does look a tad uncomfortable, and his grin is a little "fixed"
while we are inferring motivation and guilt from a cctv image

Scandalous isn't it. And Bendy sticks up for everyone else at the club and poor BWP hasn't even joined us yet, officially.

Muskrat TBF any player going to Blackpool is going to have to expect a roller coaster ride....

The wages may be low, but it's a way of getting your name up in lights.

That's toweringly obvious.

In fairness to Bendy, he's pointing out Bradley's discomfort and fixed grin in mitigation. I agree: if we are to make inferences from a CCTV still, that is not the posture and facial expression of a man who's partaking in a crime.

no im saying that cos he looks uncomfortable, and has a fixed grin, he knows what they are doing is wrong, but does not feel strong enough among his peers to voice his fears and concerns to them about it.
