Championship high-flyers Cardiff City and Reading are both desperate to sign Bournemouth's midfield battler Marvin Bartley as they race for promotion.
Cash-strapped Bournemouth have already sold marksman Brett Pitman to Bristol City and Josh McQuoid to Millwall this season and are desperate for funds to pay off debts owed to their stadium landlords.
The 24-year-old, who was plucked from Hampton & Richmond in 2007, is considered one of Bournemouth's most valuable assets after a string of all-action performances this season.
Now Cardiff and Reading both believe the former-window fitter can beef up their midfield to put them in the frame for promotion in the New Year.

ALSO went to school with Marv.

He's a good lad. A bit of a pain at school but grew up. Was a striker and in the Reading academy. Played against him as a centre back. He was rapid but never seemed amazing. He then moved to Leicester academy and eventually went non-league. I guess somewhere along the line dropped into midfield. Was really happy for him to get the league move to Bournemouth as he obviously had a few knock backs. Its worked out well for him now after loads of hard work and it looks to be great set up there. However I do get a little furious when his facebook status is something along the lines of 'knackered after training, gonna play fifa for a few hours' whilst im still at work!

Personally I want Marvin to be good enough to join us but havent seen him play 90 mins for a while. Just highlights.

Gunnarsson will go at the end of the season. Tabb wont be here much longer if he can't get a start, so this could work out well with more changes ahead this summer.
