DONE DEAL - Mathieu Manset

by JRloyalroyal » 12 Jan 2011 19:19

Hi everyone, im new to Hob Nob.

On Jonny Fordhams weekly wednesday webchat, some fan was suggesting that Steve Shorey had been at Wycombe v Hereford to watch him, and following this Sky Sports News revealed a number of football league clubs are interested.

Don't know what you make of this, his goal scoring record isn't amazing, but he is 6ft 1, and we have missed a big striker to partner longy up top, and I feel he could do a job for us?!

Thoughts?

I heard this rumour earlier in the season, with Reading reportedly watching him then.

His nickname is 'the beast'.

He has scored 12 goals in 20 games this season.

Out of contract at the end of this year he would not cost much. Surely a better bet than this unkown from Eastleigh

I saw him play New Years Day, and he is a quality player. He is an absolute tank and the only person i've seen bully Guy Branston around. He scored the 2nd equaliser for Hereford that day and was unplayable.

to nick a cliche great touch and skills for a big lad, quick and great in the air. I think he's only 21/22 as well, definitely a name for the future.

If that's him, and we ever get him, I suggest anonymous slaggings-off

I'd be quite pleased with this. Would certainly give us something different up front!

Trust me chaps, this guy isn't just a tank big lump centre forward. He can move and he was quality with the ball at his feet. His equalising goal was backheel from about the penalty spot. I know Torquay aren't the greatest side in the world but our defense is pretty good and they all couldn't handle this guy.

9 goals in 49 appearances is hardly setting the world on fire at any level...and he's playing at League 2 level. I can see an Emile Heskey type argument brewing here...

I've felt like there's been something missing since Bikey left. Signing the beast makes me think I could love again.

Sometimes it's about potential as well buddy, he's only 21 but he has the raw attributes to be one hell of a player in the years to come.

Chatting to the Hereford fans after the game, they were saying they've used him as an impact sub as he tends to tire after 70mins if he starts. But he's played the last however many games and on that day he was superb for them. He's their one chance of staying up because the rest of the team was absolute dog eggs.

Sign him up and unleash on the QPR back line. Should give Warnock something to moan about.

Sounds a little like what we've been missing since Kitson went (obviously not the tank bit from above)
