Ideal big giant LOL @ the deluded Liverpool fans who thought Roy Hodgson was the problem, and when he was gone everything would turn into sunshine and roses

Shit squad used to playing defensive shit tactics, then when one of their two star players is totally in a slump, and the other seems to deliberately get himself sent off so as to not have to deal with this crap anymore, well.. you know what will happen. Relegation is possible.

John Hartson did the exact same thing as Gerrard a few years back. When the team were about to be relegated he got himself sent off so he wouldn't have to tough it out.
Gerrard isn't strong enough for a relegation battle, clearly he fancies himself in a top team and wants nothing to do with these shambles.
For him relegation would be great, then he could finally leave Liverpool without being branded "judas", he'd have a good reason.

I don't think I've ever agreed with anything you've ever written before but....

agreed

TBM Blackpool maybe?

not much room in their midfield, plus he'd be just about the worst passer in a team that likes to get it down

I thought you were more intelligent than to agree with one of Ideal's ridiculous ramblings. If there is one player who has stood head and shoulders above his Liverpool team-mates the last few seasons, it's Gerrard. He'll disappear for the odd game, but when Liverpool have played well he has generally been the catalyst, when they have struggled he has been the one stand-out player they have had.

To say he doesn't have the stomach for a fight is based on no evidence whatsoever.

he's been over-rated for years and for the last two years has looked as interested as Torres does atm

if he'd been Spanish he might've got 20 caps at right back before they realised that his ball retentio, epsecially in the 1st hafl of games, is a liability

No Fixed Abode All over. Blackpool complete the double over Liverpool.

For the first time since 1947.

The last time Liverpool lost at Blackpool - 1954 - they were relegated from the old First Division.

he's got an eye for goal for sure, and pace if you can call it such (although it's rather mroe a will to get there first). his passing is absolutely shocking though, and he's a real liability playing in front of a back four. one in three long balls which makes it to the winger to catch the attention of the highlights doesn't compensate for the amount of times he misses passes 10-15 yards long.

Yes a dreadful player,so dreadful that you can't come up with an English midfielder who is better.
What do you mean about "catch the attention of the highlights"?
This is one of the most modest players around.
Your "absolutely shocking" regarding passing is IMHO just a little overstated.

I do think you have some kind of problem relating to this player who appears to be the no.1 midfielder in England for the past 7 or 8 years according to pundits and both Mourinho and Ferguson have held that view, two people who have a bit of an idea about football and players

He is one of the better English players but has been hugely over-rated. World class? Do me a bloody favour. Except for his diving, I'll give him that; there are few in world football better in that department.

Gerrards short passing in a busy midfield isn't great but pretty much everything else is up there with the best..

Well, let's go through it.

Shit squad - yep
Shit defensive tactics - difficult to disagree
Torres in a slump - agree
Gerrard deliberately getting himself sent off - well, no, although you have to wonder what he was thinking on Sunday.
Relegation is possible - yep, certainly is
Hartson doing the same as Gerrard - see two lines above
Gerrard not being strong enough for a relegation scrap - based on the evidence so far, yes, quite possibly

Irrespective of triumphs in previous season, he's playing poorly at the moment, just as the club that he's been carrying for a decade really needs him.

Jeez, I have seen Blackpool play better than that and they still had more than enough to beat 'Pewl. They were dire. To think that Raul Meireles cost the Scousers TWENTY THREE times as much as Blackpool paid for the superb Charlie Adam.

On that performance, Liverpool are certainly bad enough to go down.

Does Gerrard ever really stand out in top games though?

He'll score a blinder v some average team and everyone thinks he's wonderful. But then he'll go quiet,
