Planning permission for an extention to the stadium doesnt make the club more attractive.

If the so called buyers have done their homework they would realise that the prospects of growth at Reading are less than several other clubs that they could purchase at the moment.

Because a club has good financial footing surley pushes the price up.

THere is no planning permission anyway - it expired three years after it was granted.

Is this true? So we couldn't expand the stadium this summer if we wanted to?

I thought planning permission lasted 5 years, oh well guess it doesn't amtter anyway as we wouldn't be extending until we had settled in as Premiership stalwarts

Well, let's say we were promoted. Then it would make sense to expand it. You know, there could be at least 6-7 matches were we could sell out a 36,000 capacity.

No, we would need to re-apply.

The decision notice states that work must begin within three years from the date the permission was granted - that date was 17th July 2007.

It is all on the planning part of the Reading council website - http://planning.reading.gov.uk/publicaccess/tdc/dcapplication/application_detailview.aspx?KEYVAL=JCDA1TMSO3000&module=P3&hidereturn=true

Ideal Wigan - 21379, they were also the lowest atttendance the year before, 21954.. all the other attendances listed seem to be 23k'ish or better.
Probably the team least people wanted to see, and brought the least away fans..?

OMG!!!!!!

ISTR that in that first season all home tickets sold out - any attendances below cpacity were down to away supporters not selling their minimum allocation of 2,100 - there is no way to subdivide that stand further than down the middle.

Ideal Well that pretty much settles that discussion: if we are promoted, then yes, we would benefit from getting the stadium expansion

Indeed, but in stages. East or North Stand first, take capacity to about 28,000 - 30,000.
