Great result.
The shame is that so many of the others won apart from Norwich,Cardiff,QPR,Burnley and Leicester who all drew.
The football in this division may not be up to much but the competition is exciting.

That was a solid result up in Doncaster today, only having lost 1 at home this year, it was always going to be a hard slog but it would appear we had a good performance all through the side, well done McD and the lads.

Will be interested in the "back from the game" reports as to how Ingi played, a hard place to go and be against Hayter and Sharp, in your first game back after a long lay-off.

There is that, and also the fact that he's a cnut.

Why?

Because he’s not very good, he makes several mistakes, he bottles big tackles and headers, he gets beaten in one-on-ones almost every time, he gets booked and sent off for ridiculous things, he clearly thinks he’s hard - regularly squaring up to other players and having made a totally random threat to a fellow Reading fan, he has no humility, he responded to a few groans by sticking his finger up to the people who effectively pay his wages and that was deemed as acceptable, he acts totally unprofessionally off the pitch e.g. getting his friends to film him smashing things off a supermarket shelf, and generally I’m annoyed and embarrassed that he captains my team.

(To a certain extent) I couldn't care less how he behaves off the pitch. Those who do are usually the sort of people who blame footballers, actors, rock stars, glamour models etc for their own inability to be a parent. A bit of Supermarket shelf clearence is saintly in comparison to the behaviour of the likes of King, Rooney and Terry.

Squaring up to other players happens up and down the country every week (mainly on Man City's training ground). Remember when Sonko and Marcus squared up to each other? Doesn't make them any less revered by Reading fans does it? If there is one thing Mills doesn't do it's bottle challenges. How can he if he keeps getting booked and sent-off?

I'd have stuck my finger up to the east and have admired the restraint of the likes of Howard and Long for not doing so this season after being booed by their OWN fans (Which generally makes me annoyed and embarrased that these people support my team). As for thinking he's hard don't Y25/26 do that every week?

Again, the middle finger was hardly deemed acceptable was it? He had to issue an apology and people are still giving him a hard time about it. We constantly hear fans bemoan players for not showing the great god "PASSION". If you believe those people England would've easily made up for their shortcomings in the skill and technical ability departments and would've won the WC with ease. Yet the moment someone like Mills shows some he's criticised for being too passionate.

Best result of the season. If Doncaster had beaten us they would be level on points with us and have two games in hand.
With the games coming up over the next month we will see whether we are genuine promotion contenders.

Excellent result and great to see Kebe back on the scoreshhet. We need to be winning games like this if we are to be playoff contender. With Long in such good form I dread to think how many other teams have their eye on him and I would be disappointed if he left after we stuck with him for so long

Depends a bit on the subject matter though. Things like financial statements constitute legal documents, some of the stuff regarding why certain people aren't playing well...

Something currently on the OS that I suspect might be a bit of a fib is "Reading (4-4-2)", when in the post match interview McD says he asked Noel Hunt to do a job in defensive midfield. Sounds suspiciously 4-5-1ish to me!

No you do not remember properly. At no point did I say to replace Long but I have always said that we should buy another (or more) striker and I still hold by that. What's more there might have been a time when that other striker might have been selected ahead of Long. In no shape or form is that the same as saying get rid of him.

Of course you can adopt your dishonest and very selective use of statistics to claim we would be fine if we lost Long to injury but even someone like you surely can't be stupid enough to suggest that the rest of them would chip in with the missing goals?! The goalscoring stats across the season until now would not tend to support that.

And whilst he continues in that vein I wouldn't count your chickens on a new striker(s) until you have seen his pen in hand, smug grin on his face and said striker(s) sat next to him.

Don't you just hate people who quote long, pointless posts - sorry. Where did I say it was you who said anything - I didn't, all I said was it was people like you - you know the ones - those who from a position of profound ignorance wil criticise anything and everything about the club and the way it's run, while hoping (and expecting?) everyone to ignore the fact that we ar curreently well placed, and have been for most of the season. If we go up this season, and I believe we will, it will be the second time in five years we've done it after spending (in Prm terms) next to nothing. Isn't that reason enough to feel happy that we have people at the helm who aren't going to buy success at the genuine risk of putting the club in a difficult position to get out of.

As for JM being my hero, that's just silly!! While I admire what he's done and continues to do for my football club, I personally don't like him as I think he's a bit of an arsehole.

Still you just carry on with your stupid little 'campaign' to get rid of him if it makes you feel as though you are making some sort of name for yourself, because you can't be doing it for the sake of the club!!

Oh yes, and there've been 19 league games out of twenty six where Long hasn't scored. It's a really good job that we're not relying on him being the only goalscorer then, isn't it?
