This. But then nothing much at Liverpool makes sense. Reported they will fight for the £10m signature of a 17 year old from Southampton, whilst struggling to meet a £17m valuation for Uruguay striker Luis Suarez.

Excellent work by SSN on starting a story and eventually making it fact, when it was nothing of the sort

Even Grant believed the story, chucking his scarf into the crowd.

Regardless of anyone's thoughts on his abilities (or otherwise) as a Manager, NO-ONE deserves to be treated like this by their employer; shabby doesn't even begin to describe how West Ham's Directors have behaved.

Sullivan, Gold and Brady. I cannot think of another management team I'd rather work for less than this lot.

Interesting development from an unusual source; football agent Barry Silkman has just been interviewed (on At The Races) and stated that he had just had a conversation with David Sullivan which made it clear that Avram Grant is NOT getting sacked, that the board accept that West Ham have had injuries and that once the injured players are back, things will turn around.

Make of that what you will!

Martin O'Neill has told them where to stuff it after Grant's sacking was leaked? Can't see how they expect Grant to stay motivated about keeping them up now. Or the players for that matter. Scott Parker must be wondering why he showed them any loyalty.

6ft Kerplunk Martin O'Neill has told them where to stuff it after Grant's sacking was leaked?

More like MoN refused to speak to them at all whilst there was a manager already there.

Whatever has happened, it would have been very easy - and more settling for the team - for the board to have very quickly denied the rumours that Grant was going. Seems to me that they were seriously hedging their bets and it's backfired.

Nope - MO'N is too astute a manager to take on such a sinking ship - up to now he's always bailed out of clubs before the trouble starts, he's not going to get into trying to save the unsavable.

Robbie Savage (ok ok) on 606 Saturday sprung to the defence of Gold and Sullivan but pretty much said Brady was a pcunt.

I heard that story this morning and thought I had misheard!! If true (usual proviso etc etc) then that is outrageous! If a player can get charged for a twitter entry (and quite rightly) then I would have thought that Ms Brady is a racing cert for an FA charge of bringing the game into disrepute.

Also, as "an astute businesswoman" (as she likes to call herself) she should be aware that she has clearly crossed a line with regard to employment law; for the boss of ANY organisation to try and encourage junior members of staff to undermine the authority of a middle manager is simply unacceptable and when Grant DOES get the bullet, he will be entitled to not just his outstanding contract but - and this is where it gets interesting - in compensation (which is, theoretically, unlimited) for a clear breach of employment law.

It would also say a lot about Gold and Sullivan if they allow her to keep her job over this incident.

Which redtops are reporting this? Bearing in mind that Brady writes a high profile column for one of them
