No Fixed Abode quote="No Fixed Abode"]
Alan Partridge Trust me chaps, this guy isn't just a tank big lump centre forward. He can move and he was quality with the ball at his feet. His equalising goal was backheel from about the penalty spot. I know Torquay aren't the greatest side in the world but our defense is pretty good and they all couldn't handle this guy.

"I'm please with this signing" "A great prospect" "Quality player" - Now where did I hear that before...oh yes.....Marcus Williams.....

What has Kezman got to do with any of this?[/quote]

What has M Williams got to do with any of this?

As with the other two new boys, Mathieu is now a Reading player and as such deserves our full support. welcome Mathieu and good luck son, hope all goes very well for you at the Mad Stad .

Don't know whats more genius, Manset's overhead kick

or the keepers reaction to Mnaset's 2nd goal.

Come on Ref it was nowhere near over the line!

That's what happened to Fleetwood

I thought he would be a success in the higher leagues after leaving FGR

One of the more exciting signings in recent times! He's not got pedigree, he's not got experience. But he's bloody enormous and I look forward to him giving defences a nightmare and allowing Long much more time and space to do damage.

I'm genuinely very pleased by this. I think it would be a shame for Church if he instantly catapults above him in the starting list, but he's certainly going to offer us something different.

Im not sure about alarm bells, its bn mentioned above about his lack of fitness. He's 21 and this is his first full first team season in England. He's not going to necessarily be it right away, but by next year he could be another kebe. Our coaching has gotta be better than herefords. Might help kebe in the squad too maybe... beast / translator

He is young and has proved himself at Hereford after a move from France which is a big deal for a young guy

Would you go and work in France at 19? Leave all your mates behind in Reading

Good signing and can only help us long term. Dave Kitson came from League Two and was a guy that had already turned his back on football and look how that turned out. I'm not saying lightning will strike twice but once again it looks like a player with the right 'Reading DNA' welcome and good luck beast!

Platypuss "The signing has initially gone through as a loan deal to make Mathieu eligible to play for the club in tomorrow's home game against Hull City. The formalities of the permanent deal will be processed on Monday morning and his contract at Madejski Stadium will run until the summer of 2013. Manset will wear squad number 45. "

Seems like a surprisingly short contract for a young player.

Sign him on anything longer and he's over 24 when it expires and he can bugger off on a Bosman.

At 6'1" he's not that tall, but looks pretty powerful. He reminds me a bit of Heskey. Some of comments from the Bull forum say he's not fit and often caught offside. That sounds like he doesn't train well and doesn't understand what's going on. Both fixable with a bit of effort from him and the coaching staff.

It would be good to see him on the bench tomorrow, if Hunt is out then Church should start with Long.

I was just going to say, all these people wanting Manset and Long up front are forgetting about Church - I'd put Church in with Long and bring Manset on for 25 mins of 2nd half if needs be.

TBH does fitness really come into the equation in League 2?
