I don't know why, but there's something exceptionally annoying about it. If it was Lwood, I don't think I'd notice it. Leigertwood is actually very easy to spell: I don't have to think about it as I do before writing Madejski, Matejovsky, or Khizanishvili.

This is so oxf*rd trivial. I called the guy L-wood because there were about a dozen
different spellings of his name going round. I then started calling him Elwood, and
a fair few picked up on that and started using the name.

What is this place? HQ for Nominal Mafia?

Well, it's you that's raising the stakes. It's not about people having empty lives, it's about their irritation at having to read this stupid name for one of the players in their team every time they read this board. The guy has a name that is easy to spell.

Mind you, I'm easily irritated: I'm still annoyed by the term "Royals".

It's been "Elwood" for about 8-9 games at least, maybe 10
and apart from the usual suspects going "Who is Elwood"
(like they couldn't figure it out?) we have just got on with
things. This is just the latest thread in a long line of threads
designed to prod at Snowball.


No problem. I don't mind half-a-dozen threads with my name
in the header if it keeps a few simple people happy.



On more important matters

I think it's a shame Elwood can't play v QPR but at least we know his unbeaten record
will last from 27 November until February 12th at 4:45 PM (plus any extra time for the pedants)

77 Days. Not bad, Elwood (and of course it may yet be a longer time undefeated.)

there is no room for mavericks on this forum who think they can go around calling players what they like, especially not in the face of clear consensus that his nickname is ledge.
