PlasticRoyale 6 points of Spurs in 5th (also have a game in hand)

Hah! They'll both be in the UEFA Cup next year regardless.

Not if Torres gets his move to Chelsea - that could put a serious hole in King Kenny's revolution

Anybody want to bet now on Liverpool getting relegated?
Where is everbody who pontificated a few weeks ago?
Am looking forward to the game at Chelsea on Sunday-if only Carroll were fit what an interesting contest it would be especially with Chelsea being weak at the back from set pieces.
I expect Chelsea to win now that their forwards have been geed up by the arrival of Torres.
I think I'll have a bet on the bookings and I also hope that Webb is not the ref.

Agreed. Avoiding relegation is a big fillip to Liverpool.

In English that would be "off" the pace wouldn't it.

Liverpool up to 6th and 6 points behind Chelsea which just highlights how bad Chelsea have been recently, and how much improved Liverpool are.

Where indeed.

two doubles over chelsea from the pool in 3 years....no new signings on the pitch from pool either, they beat chelsea & torres with their relegation side...wasn't the stadium quiet and what a miss from maxi? it shows how much difference a decent manager makes, my god wasn't roy hodgson an abysmal manger, if liverpool had even been average instead of shockingly poor during roy's time in charge they'd be in the champions league positions...it just shows how many kneejerk idiotic pool haterz there are out there who were saying a few weeks back the pool were in a relegation fight and had no good players and were in permanent decline and all that bollocks, anyone who comes out with absolute statements on the basis of a few weeks of good form or bad form is a sky sports swallowing moron...liverpool are not a great side on the basis of 4 straight wins, nor were they a midtable club on the back of hodgson's disasterous tenure...they're a side with players capable of challenging for a champions league spot at the moment (although because of hodgson it's probably out of their reach) and with a few decent signings (2 or 3 top class players) they'll be competing for the league title again, that is simply a genuine objective analysis so ignore the agenda-driven hate from those jealous of liverpool's status as the most illustrious team in the history of the game in England, the reality is they are a good side, but not a great one...although the fact that an average man u side is pissing the league suggests it doesn't even require being a great side to win the league, having the right manager, team spirit and tactical approach are often ignored by the sky sports swallowers but these count for so much and liverpool at least have those qualities now, they aren't as far away as many may think

Interesting table on this page. United can overhaul Liverpool this season for total major honours won, currently 39 to Liverpool's 40 (as well as league titles won, currently both 18).

Preferring something to Chelsea is like preferring cake to bollock torture.
