I used to be an Arsenal fan but starting attending games at the hallowed Mad Stad in the second half of the 2005/2006 season.

I've watched about 7 games a season from 93/94, I'm as consistent a fairweather fan as we've had which must win me some sort of award

My first full season was our last at Elm Park, our quite dismal relegation season.

I was here ... but in the days before the fences and gates.

Happy memories - think you can have as much fun supporting a club in a lower tier with something to aspire to. Relegation (old Div 4) dreadful - worst day of my life. Three times. Promotion - the opposite, but don't tell Mrs RAF Royal!!

We may not be "shit" now, but life was much more enjoyable at Elm Park.

I can't cope with that level of consistency... I've varied from between 3 and 16ish from 95/96, with 1 in 94/95.

I was just looking the other night at some of my old programmes. The first one being against Chesterfield in 1975. I would have sat with my Grandfather in D stand. We then progressed to the Tilehurst Road end, where I have a print from an Evening post picture against Doncaster where there was a whopping attendance of 1,700.
Then came my teens in the early 80's and the whole new world of the Southbank. Looking through the letter box to watch the half of the game when the ball wasn't above 20ft off the deck and then it was only if you could see through the smoke and steam that had gathered.

Happy days! :D

You didn't have a lot of choice in a rammed Southbank!

If one moved, 50 had to move and the thoughts of trying to get to the toilet and back in less than half an hour were not even worth thinking about. I'm surprised there wasn't some sort of health warning with the new Elm Park housing due to the amount of people that had to have a p!ss at the earliest opportunity of leaving the ground!
