Hampshire Royal This is a quote from the Guardian article on another thread:
"When Jimmy Kebe arrived at the club the Malian winger was like a cut-price Nwankwo Kanu – blessed with ungainly ability but unable to do anything effective with it. McDermott has backed him with unrelenting belief and Kebe is now unrecognisable."

brendywendy imo was awesome preinjury- has taken him a while to get back to performing- still no way near his best, but even so still one of the best wingers in the league, and still scoring and creating.

Isn't that pretty much what Sandhurst said above before you called him a div?
I'm worried about Kebe to be honest. You say he's still scoring and creating but he's scored 1 goal since September and I don't recall too many key contributions in goals or chances.
He's less comedy than he was before, but I still don't think he's the threat he was. Some of that may be down to defenders sussing him out, teams doubling up on him or kicking him out of the game. Whatever the reason he's not been as effective and this squad doesn't have enough in it to scare oppositions without Kebe back to his best.
I'm hoping he recaptures some form and continues to prove me wrong. I'm not quite seeing that yet though.

brendywendy lol!
maybe- its my default reaction. old school crowthorne/sandhurst rivalry
i probably agree- but the thread was a humerous tribute to kebe though, not an in depth analysis of the man.
and that post was in that spirit.
im much more concerned with the match by match ploy of him coming inside in the second half, and shane long swapping out there.
leaving no one on the wing to support or recieve the ball from griffin.
hes also spending much more time in his own half, tracking back and tackling.
and suffers from us not having the creative midfielder who can capitalise on him being marked by 2/3 players
he is also hacked mercilessly by nearly every team we play.
not that he needs me to make excuses for him. the man is god.

prostak How can you be sure it's a lack of effort that's hampering him?
