Elmer Park Chance of silverware though in the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup where they are in the semi finals against imploding Maidenhead United. Wycombe - Chesham in the other semi so Maidenhead are the only Club still in Berkshire remaining in the Competition.

In the 'lesser' Berks and Bucks Senior Trophy the Semi-Final line up is as follows:

Sandhurst Town v Flackwell Heath scheduled for Tue 15th March
Wantage Town v Newport Pagnell Town [Holders] tba - should be played by March 18th

... and in the B&B Intermediate Cup Semi-Finals the matches are due to be played on Sat 26th Feb [KOs 14:00h] :

Didcot Casuals v Highmoor/Ibis
Chalfont Wasps v Wootton & Dry Sandford Utd

Tony Le Mesmer W&E have plans to install a plastic pitch if they return to stag meadow. Could be controverial but i think
this is something more non league clubs should try to increase revenue. Plastic pitches are much better than they used to be and no stupid fixture pile ups either

Same quality as used by Spartak Moscow in Champions League but not allowed above Conference North/South levels in this country

Very sad to hear and I hope he makes a fast and full recovery. The guy is called Chay Morris and was making his debut for Basingstoke after being signed from Beaconsfield to cover for an injury to Reading's own Simon Locke who is on loan there.

Update on the Basingstoke website: after an x-ray no neck or spinal injury but he has a very bad cut in the inner ear which could require surgery, and may affect his balance and hearing (I assume for the rest of his life). He's been transferred to Charing Cross Hospital. Fair play to the Maiders supporters who gave their coats to help keep the man warm.

3rd attempt to post due to *&^%ing BT Broadband's do&$h!t service

Looking at the BSS table Maidenhead Utd are in serious danger of losing their BSS status at the end of the season. Worrying times I guess down there at York Road, if they're struggling to pull in crowds much higher than 250 who knows what the decrease will be should they drop back into Southern League.

By the way any ideas why Welling had a 14.30 kick off for the game?

...looking on The Wings own website the earlier KO was a precaution in case scheduled repairs to their floodlights had not been completed.

..agree worrying times for Maidenhead - they host Woking (in 9th) this Tuesday whilst some of their 'rivals' at the wrong end of the table are also in action against play-off hopefuls:-

- Thurrock v Chelmsford (3rd)
- (WED) Lewes v Ebbsfleet (4th)

.. and there's a crunch game between Dorchester (18th) and Dartford (15th)

...'Beavers' just below Maidenhead travel to Havant (13th) tomorrow (Mon) night

Magpies then have two home games in quick succession - this Sat 26th Feb H v Eastleigh and next Tue 1st Mar H v Havant.

Tony Le Mesmer Interesting result from the top of the table Southern League clash last night. Salisbury 0 Truro 6

..read a report on the Nl Forum - H side had man dismissed on 43' - conceded three in the last two + Injury time - score was described as 'harsh'
att: 1600+.

Salisbury still only 1 pt behind with two games in hand and Cambridge City are lurking just a point further back - they host Diddy on Saturday. :|

Not good locally this MW :

Maidenhead go down 0-1 vs Woking; 'stoke battered 2-5 @ leaders Braintree and according to todays P!$t Roddy S is having some time off from management after RTFC were undone 2-4 by Shortwood on Sat ? :?
They have two crunch games next, away at strugglers Shrivenham and then host high flying Wantage next Tuesday at Scours.

Good result from Binfield though another big away win on Tuesday tucks them in nicely behind the league leaders

a m8 was at Braintree last night and said that 'Stoke's keeper was at fault for a number of goals, which isn't really a surprise

Think they have a keeper crisis of sorts. they had a guy on loan who picked up a bad injury in his 1st game, leading to the match being abandoned last week. turned out he had a cut ear. :|

Ah right, just looked it up and they had a young Italian Youth International 'keeper called Ranieri playing for them. Bit of a flapper from the report I read.

I hear rumours - not checked for myself yet - that Sandhurst Town's stand was badly burned in an arson attack this week.

If anyone is interested, there is a ground working party scheduled at Stag Meadow from 9.30am to carry out some much needed maintenance. Bring gloves, shovels, forks, barrows and that sort of stuff.
