Against a Doncaster side that I think Aldersh*t could beat.

Good job they beat other teams (like us for example twice) then isn't it?

Comparing Swansea with Reading at the moment is a somewhat futile pastime really. Swansea have been building a side for five or so years now, with a succession of managers who have almost seamlessly fitted into the club, with a style of play which has suited the players they have. Rodgers has dropped into there, fallen on his feet and by Christ he's a lucky lucky man because if he went to any ther club but Swansea I personally think he would have fallen on his arse.

Reading, on the other hand, have had to rebuild and with McDermott in charge (note how McDermott is doing compared to how Rodgers did with pretty much the same players) we are assembling a squad, doing things "the Reading Way". Who we sign, we tend to sign for the long term - there's the future of the club. The culture of football? Well that's a very subjective issue. My own view is that if we had a decent player who could fill the "Gylfi role" sufficiently then we'd have another very potent team. As it is, McDermott's love of playing two defensively minded midfielders serves to increase the tendency to play the long ball which is why I like Howard in the middle, particularly in a 4-2-3-1. But whatever, direct attacking football is ok by me. I never liked Rodgers style of football, and having watched the game at the Liberty in January I saw nothing there to alter that view. Difference is they are geared to play that way after the hard work done by Martinez on the whole, and to a much lesser degree Paolo Sousa.

No, not really. We are a Gylfi Sigurdsson away from making a concerted push for the play offs, but even with Gylfi in the side there is no way we'd have been pushing for automatic this season.

Good to see Brendan's football is inspiring the Swansea public to come out in numbers.

If you think what is on show on Sky Sports 2 right now is boring football then may I suggest rugby - that's played by fat people without the technique or intelligence to play football with lots of long ball hoofing.

Swansea are playing some lovely stuff.

100% agree. Playing some great football, BUT rogers/the team couldn't play like that whilst he was here. Move on.

Shame he wasn't give longer than a few months given that now the quality of football here's far worse and we're going backwards. Shame we have a chairman who doesn't give a shit any more and a non-league yes man manager who can't coach. Shame Swansea are pushing for automatic promotion this season while we languish in mid table before probably selling more of our players. Shame we have mong fans who settle for this and think the best way to win games is to hoof the ball aimlessly forwards rather than retaining possession, waiting for the right moment and carving teams apart which is happening in South Wales today.

Maybe something to do with inheriting a poor team minus over £10 million of players and being given less than 6 months to turn it around? McDermott's been here for well over a year now and the football we serve up is dogshit.

We tried "retaining" with BR and that picked us up loads of points didn't it. We play to our strengths.

We were making progress, it takes a while to get players to adapt after being so used to Michael Duberry smashing the ball to the opposition.

At least we're serving up dogshit in the Championship. Somewhere we wouldn't be if your man crush was still here.

We weren't in the relegation zone when he was sacked, so I'm afraid you're making assumptions. I'm going to make one of my own and assume you don't know what you're talking about.
