"Jem Karacan's reckless challenge on David Fox led to a straight red card for the young Turkish defender."

Only just seen this.

Inspired by Shane Long, Reading put in a top drawer performance to see off Bristol City 3-1 at Madejski Stadium this Boxing Day.

It's not the only mistake that Daily Mail have made. Somehow they seem to think Shane has scored 15 goals already this season. So where's the other two goals come from?

Gifted by Snowball

They will be adding his two goals for Ireland. Now he's on 17

That explains this then

According to sky sports text, we are already out

"Everton will travel to either Man City or Aston Villa"

From the OS:

"Listen to today's game live
Action from Bluebirds clash"

Confusing their bluebirds with their eagles maybe?

Last night the ITV commentator at City thought Everton would be their next opponents!

Then all these references to it being our only third appearance in the QF's - dissing our heritage by 25%.

2011 - City (a)
2010 - Villa (h) 2-4
1927 - Swansea (a) 3-1
1901 - Spurs (h) 1-1, 0-3

Radio 1 sports reporter at lunch talking about the Villa fans unhappiness with Houllier and his team selection.

Villa fans are particularly disappointed because they would've had an easy tie against Reading in the Quarter Final.

They missed one of the four but I'll take your word for it.

I think his point is that one is a future game, so not "heritage". They missed 1/3 past matches.

Ipswich 1 - 3 Reading

Sean Long took his season's tally to 20 goals as Reading kept alive their promotion hopes with a win at Ipswich. Long put the visitors ahead when he evaded his marker to head Brian Howard's corner into the near post.

Further down, in the same BBC report, there was this abuse of the English language:

"But Mills's absence had little affect on Reading ..."

I mean, do they teach kids any more ?

1 min: Off we go then. Reading, in black shirts and red shorts, start the match, kicking from right to left. Very quickly, City get a goal-kick. It doesn't look like Reading have sold out their away allocation, a risible state of affairs.

Repeatedly saying it was Shane Long marking Richards when it was Noel Hunt.
