I disagree Southbank 1871... if RFC had done their job and signed up to 5,000 tickets there would still be the odd ticket available for fans with low royalty points.

RFC have coc*ed up big time for this one off game "Quarter Final (last eight) of the FA Cup" at the biggest spending premier league club.

rfcjoe Just got a text from the club saying we've been given an extra 1000 tickets! Fair play to the club for pulling that out of the bag!

please source and confirm?!

Yep, 100% honest. Should be on the website in the next half an hour or so.

Even though it's bullshit it still wouldn't be enough for me to get a ticket anyway, an extra 1000 would still sell out before general sale :(

The club get 50 freebies I think. I would have suggested at least half of them were raffled amongst supporters for 20 quid each, with the money going to charity, but I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to do that.

Maybe the club could just pick, say, 30 supporters at random, ring them up and ask them if they want one of their tickets for nothing.

A baffling silence from STAR on this matter too. Aren't they outraged? Or are they all ok cos they've all got a ticket? :|

Why the hell is Craig Mortimer, Head of Communications, not communicating with supporters on this?

Absolutely no new info whatsoever on the OS. At the very least they should have the courtesy of letting the loyal supporters, who they said they wanted to reward, know how many tickets have been sold so that they can get some idea as to whether any might still be on sale come midnight.

That would also put the WUMs on here out of business for a while.

They simply do not care about the supporters. They're clearly in it for themselves.

Of course we will sell 2,800 tickets but we will never know how many we could have sold.

I would suggest depending on which department you work in at the club this is either extremely bad news or extremely good/relieving news!

'Like being savaged by a dead sheep' would also be a very fitting epitaph for STAR and their dealings with the club.

i put your points to star on their face book and this is the reply i got

your point
hope that STAR, on behalf of all fans, are going to leave the club in no doubt what they think of all of this, and if the club get the hump with them, so what? They haven't, apparently, had any dialogue with STAR on either this fiasco or the ST one.

reply i got
Supporters Trust At Reading Believe me, they know what fans think of it now,

I know the club didn't liaise with them over this - but that would make me even crosser if I was a STAR board member - and as I've said before, I'd be telling the club in no uncertain terms what STAR thought of this fiasco and its treatment of its fans. But one person, on the STAR thread, has just said "there's nothing they can do".

If you're representing the FANS, you represent the fans and to hell with what the club might think of you. In my opinion of course.

EDIT: Thanks Adam, just seen your post.

One thing they will know, however, is the number of season ticket renewals they get for next season.
