Big Foot When was the last time Tesco told you you couldn't retain your Clubcard points because you only bought a pot noodle from a Tesco Express in 2005?

I feel a whoosh coming on but what the hell.

Don't Tesco points expire after 4 years??

And I make you right, you pays for the points you keep them.

So if it's Man City away, person A has a season ticket 3 years ago but now doesn't go, but person B goes to 4 or 5 away matches that season. And person A gets the ticket? Unfair imo.

And this is why the TO shouldn't change the Royalty Points, you can't please everyone.

50 pages nearly 1,000 posts and nearly 11,000 views and alas we still have no more tickets.

I can't even get tickets at midnight but I'm stopping up just to se what happens!

It's pretty pointless having a points system when they have ticketing how they have this week.

FWIW, I'm not even sure they should bother with a points system. Season ticket holders get priority. Rest on general sale.

In my eyes person A has given more to the club and is therefore slightly more deserving of a ticket. Loyalty is built over the long term.

My dad's been going since 1956, but won't help him get a ticket for Sunday!

And when the dust has settled what will be remembered most about this game (over and above the team's fantastic win, of course!):

The free coach travel or the ticket allocation fiasco?

If I was the chairman, I would not be at all happy. Probably the biggest waste of good money since the late Tommy Burns last presented him with an idea!

You get sent vouchers that have an expiry date on so not strictly true.

This is why a rolling system is fair. Person A season by season would lose the points they accumulated if they stopped supporting the club where as Person B knows they will eventually catch up providing they continue to go & will eventually get into a more favourable points bracket.

100% fair & LOYAL fans would be at the top of the tree for tickets.

I've got to try and buy a friend a ticket with his card that has over 600 points on it. The thing is he doesn't know the password for it as he hasn't used it online before. I've already tried his postcode in upper and lower case and that's wrong. Ticket office is closed, any suggestions. Looks like I'll have to join the queue in the morning.

Just a thought... with thousands upon thousands of people all logging on at the same time tonight is there a chance the online ticketing site will crash on the stroke of midnight - millennium bug stylee?

Ben - login online & add him to your friends & family. That way you can buy it for him. You will only need his member no & nothing else IIRC.

Website says you can only purchase the City tickets on-line if you have made a previous purchase. Maybe that means you have to have used it on-line for a purchase rather than just on the phone.

Doubt there will be much point joining the queue tomorrow morning (unless the website goes completely tits up tonight).

Well if he's gone to every game since 1956 he'll be near the top of the list on the points!

That might work but you have just helped a 600 pointer onto an equal footing with 1599!!

Every chance I should imagine! And the chances of the club having foreseen that and having people on hand to deal with it? Well this is the FA Cup!

Christof Seeing as I appear to have very little chance of getting tickets for this game (423 points), I have emailed the club to request a definitive answer on the chance of the allocation being raised, and the possibility of them updating the website regularly on how many tickets are left (to save everyone queueing around the block for non-existent tickets). I will post any answer here if one is forthcoming.

23 hours (and 23 pages) on, a quick update on the club's response to my mail - there hasn't been one. There also appears not to be any update on the website stating the number of tickets sold, so thanks to the people who have posted what they have heard from the TO.

Banner suggestions:-
- They're Really Not Here...
- surely any banner at City has to have the word MASSIVE on it somewhere...
