Ipswich (A) Match thread sponsored by RFC Customer Services

by Big Foot » 08 Mar 2011 19:13

Feeling depressed at missing out on a Man City ticket?

It's OK!

Listen to us play our annual defeat at Ipswich and get yet another player sent off as per every season. Who's anyone's money on? I'm going to stick my neck out and tip McCarthy to be sent off

Any team news?

Tabby must be injured. Jake Taylor on the bench. 8)

Please nobody sent off tonight, that'll be either a ban for Sunday or an appeal and then a longer ban when that fails.

DaROFLROFLen O'Dea.

LOL @ the complete lack of width in that Reading line-up, providing you excuse Howard's massive gut.

Blatantly resting players because you wouldn't dream of playing Brian Howard and Hal Robson-Kanu on the wings whilst aiming for promotion! Still, good to see Zurab retain his place in front of Ivar

I think you'll find it's Noel Hunt out on the wing.

Looks like 4-5-1 to me with a little bit of Sundays game in mind.

I can't see us getting more than a point.

Interesting one, personally I don't think Hunt is half as effective on the wing but Howard is a better player when playing alongside 2 other central midfielders. Still, whatever the team, I'm sure they'll put the effort in

It was all cheering me up, then you had to ask for team news

How average we look without McAnuff and Kebe. And not even on the bench :|

Oh well boys, we can stifle them with 5 in midfield and then Long can nick one on the break. This plan will work right up until Karacan gets a red in the 40th minute.

If you notice during the match, Hunt does drift towards the wings. He does put in a decent ball as well.

Without Kebe and McAnuff he's the next most reliable option and it means we can easily change formation during the game without the need to make a sub.

As always, pace is a real issue, even more so with no Kebe. Packed midfield, a lot of hoof may be in our favour tonight to bypass the masses in the middle and use the bit of pace we have in the side up front.

Surely if we were "resting" players, the main one would be Long? And if we were "resting" Kebe, wouldn't we still put him on the bench? :|
