Very sad news. Always suspected something wasn't right when he was out for so long and the club kept very quiet about his injury, then made a rather sudden re-appearance,but I didn't expect this at all. Quality player and quality bloke, an inspiration to us all. All the best Chris.

Sad news. Seemed to me to be a model professional. Was a great player for us in the year he won Player of the Season.

Devastating news has taken the gloss of a great win tonight. I hope the club arrange a game for him becouse there will be a time in the future Chris will need 24 hour medical care, house adaptions wheelchairs adapted transport full time carers. Having experianced MS at first hand these things cost an awfull lot of money.
So we need to raise as much as we can.

Credit the club for handling the situtation so delicately, and more poignant words from Brian this evening...

Seen him a few times after Reading games in recent times, often by himself in a suit, walking unnoticed towards the players car park, always made me sad a bit, lonely figure.
