Mr Angry
howser No doubt i will be slated on this opinion, but I like Warnock, whenever he speaks about Reading, he is full of praise for us about the team, manager and on how a well run club we are.

he hates us - always

How can you say that? he never talks crap about us...EVER. The hate is very one sided im afraid and its pretty cringe worthy.

Yes in the whole, "Character" vs "Colin" debate I'd have to come down on the makes life more interesting side.

This is almost certainly down to their, "they made me quit at gunpoint oh actually maybe not your honour" chairman.

The number and breath of the charges makes me think a ten point deduction and fine.

Er.... clearly your memory isn't what it was.

After we won the Championship by a record points total, and beat Colin's Sheffield United team by 16 points, he was still unable to acknowledge the better team, stating that Shef Utd might have finished second but were the best team in the Division that season....

......I also recall him telling his player (ironically, Chris Armstrong) to break Sidwell's leg, and also why would any player when coming on as a substitute immediately run up to an opponent and elbow them UNLESS they had been instructed to do so by their manager?

You might like him as a "football character" but the fact is he is a self serving, publicity seeking, hypocritical, nasty piece of work.

In reality if they are found guilty of flouting the league rules then recent history dictates that they will have to lose points, and due to the length of time that this has been going on and the amount of games that Fourlan has been involved in, then it should be a substantial points loss.

hes on the record as saying we are everything he dislikes about a modern football club

Good Lord, Colin and I actually agree about something. As it happens I was around Shepherds Bush a couple of hours after their game last Saturday evening and the pubs were busy inside and out with supporters singing and celebrating. Total contrast to the RFC experience where the middle class fan base melts away into the night towards Calcot or Lower Earley. The heart of this club was torn away with the move from Elm Park.

No mention of the huge demographic change which Reading has undergone since the early 90s. No mention either that most of the supposed 'middle class' supporters are actually nothing of the kind, but rather what used to be called lower middle class with aspirations. :D

I think it was probably more to do with Hunty gobbing off if you want my honest opinion. Pretty sure there was an angle of the incident where you could see Hunt saying something to Gillespie before the altercation.

How dare you!! I'm middle class and proud of it! I worked my way up from a working class background if that's not a contradiction!

I love football with a passion. I love(d) Elm Park but have grown to love the Mad Stad too, albeit for slightly different reasons.

I don't know about that. Where were you supposed to drink if you melted away on the other side of Tilehurst Road? The Southcote? You came to Elm Park through middle class streets galore. In any case, nothing middle class about wanting to get home for your tea.

I'm not sure about the class of the Reading fans; they seemed working class at Elm Park and seem middle class at the Madejski. Probably just the effect of the stadium. But if you want to get the feel of a bona fide middle class crowd, go to the rugby.

Warnock anyway is middle class these days. He has a house in Cornwall and owns his own tractor to do the garden. I don't mind Warnock as a character--always enjoy his interviews. And Downes was in the wrong over the flare up: Warnock was gesturing with his leg that someone had been kicked, not that they should be kicked.
