B W-P an aside

by Snowball » 18 Mar 2011 21:00

Just noticed that Mr Injury, Bradley Wright-Phillips
has played every game (10) since joining Charlton
and scored 5 goals (at League 1 Level)

BUT

In the same time period RFC have played 11 games against WAY tougher opposition

Cardiff-QPR-Norwich-Millwall-Watford, EVERTON, Ipswich-MAN CITY, plus Palace, Boro, Sheffield United

Between them Hunt & Long have managed 11 goals (Long 7, Hunt 4) and a bagful of assists each.

Looks like we made a good decision?

Plus we don't know how BWP would have played at RFC. Would he have come straight in or be a bench warmer? None of the goals he's scored for Charlton have really been that good either!

Who knows; maybe we would have scored more goals with him in the side, and got wins against Cardiff, QPR and Norwich. There is no way of telling.

A goal is still a goal regardless if it comes off some fat forward's arse or is spanked in from 35 yards plus

No, not general football.

The point is, for zero investment we have Hunt-Long doing brilliantly

I frankly couldn't give a f*ck about a player that Reading didn't sign.

Surely it only looks like we made a good decision if Manset proves a success, and sooner rather than later.

Ideal Doesn't really matter how well BWP does or doesn't do on the pitch, if he is crocked then that's what we based our decision on.
Only time will tell how his knee holds up in the future.

True, but ATM we clearly have goal-scorers and assisters in Long-Hunt, which was my point.
