My Charity Run Liverpool to London in 7 days

by domo » 10 Mar 2011 17:29

Hi Everyone
Always view the forums but haver never posted..however I read about Chris Armstrong and thought it appropriate that I let you know about a run Im doing for Charity
Im doing a run called Thunderrun2 (there is a reason for the name) where Im raising money for 2 main charities MS Society (as it has effected some close friends and family) and Kids Task Force which is an organisation sponsored by the PFA (Who are donating)
Im also donating some of the money to the Berkshire Cancer Centre who have ben treating my dad
Im running about 30 miles a day starting at the cavern club in Liverpool and finishing in Richmond (near where I live) I start on the 15th May and finish on the 21st ..Im doing it by myself with a backpack credit card phone and spare pair of pants..
Some RFC fans have already very kindly sponsored me and Im trying to spread the word as much as I can
It became even more poignant once I heard about chris, and Ive also pitched to some of the premier league academies (my son is an under 10 at Fulham..although wanted to sign for reading but too far for us to travel!) as well as the PFA..asking for all prem players to donate 1/2 an hours pay towards the cause..
BTW been a royals supporter for 40 years (Ist game Reading v Luton at home I think 1970..lost 1-0 to Malcolm Macdonald goal) was match mascot on my 30th Birthday..
If you want to donate or find out more you can visit www.justgiving.com/thunderrun2
Please spread the word
thanks

Dom

Yup..1990 we played bournemouth at home..some of the yts thought I was a new signing..although what gave it away was the fact that I was wearing a swatch and trainers..also Martin Hicks refused to hold my hand and Gilkes just kept on laughing..Kevin Bond was cpt for them and just laughed..I think we won 2-1 and Craig Maskell scored with a goal through the keepers legs..

That's quite impressive - but you're no Eddie Izzard.

SpaceCruiser Relevance to the team?
Chris Armstrong... technically an ex-player, but still fairly recent.

It's technically the wrong forum, but I'm a moderator and I don't care so will even make it sticky.

Fuck off Spacey. I'm sure if he was doing a run for the deaf you wouldn't complain.
