In the top 6 of my favourite Reading players of all time so couldn't do anything but applaud him before the game.
Once the game starts he is just another opposition player.
I just hope he doesn't show us that he is still better than what we now have.

22 goals in the Championship season, with a httrick to destroy the biggest club on the South Coast. And the goal that started the comback vs Boro the follwoing season.

He is so much a part of our history.

I understand Kitson hated the "David Kitson, what a bargain" chant so perhaps we can remind him of that.

Not as much as Murty hated the M-U-R-T-Y chant.

"Because our captain's a fidgeting, blinking spacker" - the fans, in response.

Named our cat after him, so can bestow no greater honour!

(and yes, it's ginger - sorry, I mean strawberry blond).

Floyd you baffle me sometimes....

Ok, so he was a bit outspoken at times, but he didn't show the club any disrespect.

For me, any player who I think gives 100% on the pitch and/or has played a big part in a successful era for the club will get a good round of applause from me.

Kits - yes
Sonks - yes
Ashdown - a bit yes
Halford - No, but wont be booing as not fussed about him much tbh

He was a great footballer for us but he was rather too dismissive of the fans for my liking. So, I will just ignore his name as it's read out, whilst booing the rest of the Pompey team when they are read out. And kicking Rouge in the shins if he gets too excitable about Dave.

Many things can be said about Kitson - he is a bit of a prat - but he certainly does not sum up the modern footballer (thick, bland and entitled). I'll give him a good reception because he's always been fcuking entertaining.

technically/skillwise the best striker ive seen here.
could do stuff others wouldnt think of.

massive legend, love the big ginger lummox.
massive round of applause from me. as should every player from 05/06 on their return.
dismissing him because he"dismissed our fans" seems silly.

I always had a soft spot for, Dave "I used to work at Tescos and read Shakespeare so I'm not the normal chav footballer" Kitson.

Although I still have not really forgiven him for flicking me the sneaky, behind the back, middle finger at Cambridge away whatever year that was.

I think we had been racially abusing him, beccause gingers are obviously a race.

Mr Angry Ashdown's reception - most people would have forgotten he played for us!

He behaved like an absolute prat in the first game. No time for him.

If you really want to wind up Kitson, sing the Leroy Lita song.

floyd__streete No doubt you're all planning to give Drink-drive Dave a generous ovation on Saturday, deservedly so for his performances for us. Me - in typical contrary fashion - I will be giving him some abuse for being a billy-big-b*llocks do-you-know-who-I-am merchant who sums up a lot of what is precious and self-important about modern footballers 8)

I thought he was always the opposite to most modern footballers :|

An intelligent bloke who is not afraid to be different from the rest of them and quite happy to speak his mind... no matter whether it makes him look like a total prat.

He should be your hero.

Yeah.
