Team for Portsmouth (h)

by Y21_Royal » 31 Mar 2011 15:53

Surprised this hasn't been started already.

Given his form and the fact the AFed isn't 100% just yet, I see no reason to change McCarthy and one assumes Mills comes back in.

McCarthy

Griffin
Mills (c)
Zurab
Harte

Kebe
Tabb
Leigertwood
McAnuff

Hunt
Long

Picks itself this week, presuming that our injury situation has eased a bit. Karacan vs Tabb possibly a point of contention.

edit: OS says Mills, Leigertwood and Hunt "being monitored." McAnuff "hopefully" ok.

Tempting to give Manset a start. But I agree should probably stick with Hunt, if available.

..................McCarthy
...Griffin....Pearce...Khiz.....Harte
Kebe.....Howard..Leigertwood...McAnuff
................Hunt
.........................Long

That's our best team (bar Feds possibly) for me, with Mills in for Pearce if Mills is in top form. I would expect to see Karacan favoured ahead of Howard and obviously McAnuff, Pearce, Leigertwood, Hunt & Griffin's fitness is a question.

This..
By all accounts, Howard has been playing well, and it would be tough to drop him.

But I can see Mills be put in ahead of Pearce.

Probably this team if all the players who missed the Barnsley game are miraculously fit again. I have a feeling one or two will still be out but apart from Feds not yet being ready for consideration it is difficult to say which ones.

I don't think Hunt will be available.

Manset will quickly surpass Noel Hunt to become our 2nd striker, Hunt has offered little this season. Guarenteed he will score tomorrow now though!

McCarthy

Griffin
Pearce
Zurab (at last the best central defensive partnership could be together)
Harte

Kebe
Karacan
Leigertwood
McAnuff

Long
Manset

LOL Hunt may look average a fair amount, but he has scored and assisted regularly.
