During Tuesday's 2-1 defeat, Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar covered 5,176 metres of the pitch. Fernando Torres managed 5,112.

50 miLOLion pound signing! ROFL

Hmm. I'd be surprised if that were accurate. Does remind me of a stat (no idea what the source would be) from a few years ago that during a particular Arsenal match, Freddie Ljungberg had been walking or standing still for only 10 seconds of the time in which the ball was in play.

He's always thought to have been quite light on his feet.

Was van der Sar doing Schmeichal-esque shuttle runs to bump up his stats?

but thats not unrealistic, little light jogs meant he could burst into full pace quicker than if he was walking

Don't forget that the ball is out of play for 20-30 minutes as well.

Back to the Van der Sar/Torres stat, didn't Torres go off at half time? Keepers do constantly move around so again it's not that surprising really.

No Fixed Abode Cracks me up. We've had a wobbly spell which most teams go through at some point in the season and we're still top of the league and the press say there is a crisis...

But LOL for Chelsea being top of the Prem and in the next stage of the CL.

Still calling it a wobbly spell?

I actually want Chelsea to catch Man Utd and win the Prem, and Torres to score the winner at Old Trafford. There I said it.

Fergie, Rooney and Scholes have been a disgrace this season. I'd love them to choke.

Does it matter now that Chelsea are very much back in with a chance to win the Premiership?
