Top 6

by roadrunner » 17 Apr 2011 18:19

Interesting read on The Football Forum http://www.thefootballforum.net/index.p ... 027-top-6/
A few leaning towards Reading taking 2nd spot, some for a Play-off win. (it is about time we won one..)

What is your predicted top six?

I'm going to be a little bold and say:

1. QPR
2. Reading
===========
3. Cardiff
4. Norwich
5. Swansea
6. Leeds Utd

As this thread has been bumped I have just gone through the predictions. Its less than a month since the thread started. No-one predicted we would finish second and some didn't think we would finish top 6.
Positions and expectations have changed rapidly. Only just over two weeks ago before the Pompey game we were three points behind Forest. Now we are nine points clear of them....in just a fortnight.

That's what 5 wins from 5 does for you. Especially when those above you start slipping up. Leeds, Swansea, Forest and Burnley all showing relegation form in that time has certainly helped.

Cardiff - 12 points from 12
Norwich - 7 from 12
Reading 15 from 15.
Swansea - 4 from 12
Leeds - 4 from 12
Forest - 3 from 12
Burnley - 3 from 12
Leicester - 5 from 12
Pompey - 1 from 12 (lolz)
Watford - 2 from 12

You could add Leicester onto the list. They have not picked up that many points in recent weeks. Unusual for so many contenders to have been in such poor form at this stage in the season.

Good man. Apart from ourselves, Cardiff and Norwich(to a lesser extent) the chasing pack have been in dire form.

Yeah but Jay is deliberately trying to obscure that particular fact as he predicted a top 6 finish for Pompey. He's more subtle than you think.

My nightmare scenario is we lose out on goal difference to Cardiff for automatic promotion. The gap has been closing of late ...

Hands very much up. My short-term memory is seriously bad at the moment. I keep forgetting things I've done and said in the last 24 hours, and past weeks. Actually a bit concerned about it.

Mods, please delete.
