Back from the game - Leicester (H)

Leicester were a very good and dangerous side.
We played like an away side today and on the break could have scored five or six.

They could have had three or four themselves had it not been for MCarthy and some abject finishing.

It was very strange to see us play that way, however it worked extremely well and was the sort of game that Kebe must love.
It was very hard to pick a fault with anyone today (The idiot serving my beer at half time might take that award!!)

Any how..........
The last ten minutes was a nervous affair as they nearly scored a second. The atmosphere dropped and the defence started hoofing and gifting the ball back to them.
Still we held out and a good 3 points against a team full of Premiership players.
A big well done to Brian the back room staff and the lads today.

By the way a great goal by their player.

They had 6.

Bruma and Van Aanholt from Chelsea, Yakubu from Everton, Kamara from Fulham,Naughton from Spurs, Vitor from Benfica.

Maximum was 5 in a 16 man squad, it may have gone up to 6 in an 18 man but not sure.

EDIT: Appears it's still 5, so unless one of the listed has become a perm signing then they have broken those rules.

Vitor was "signed" from Benfica according to Soccerbase, if so they had 5 loanees starting, and none on the bench. Naughton/Bruma/Van Aanhot/Yakubu/Kamara.

However, Wikipedia and BBC sites do state that Vitor is on a season long loan from Benfica, so this will be interesting. Seeing as we won the match, I can't see any FL sanctions being applied that would be of benefit to us.

The FL regulations do refer to loans being from English leagues only.

Kebe's run for Hunt's goal was very good (Kamara did give up chasing him despite what you might hear on the TV or radion though), but don't forget that after all that excellent running he cocked up the pull back to Long (with time to pick him out as well).

If it wasn't for the defenders clearance falling to Hunt on the edge of the box the run would've been wasted.

mcanuff wouldnt have scored yesterday but for the amazing jinking tight control around the box by kebe, who had about 5 players around him at the time.

At the end of that run Kebe was completely knackered, but he still managed to get the ball in the danger area of the box, and the defender was at such a stretch to get it that his clearance was shite and went straight to one of our players.

I think it was a good cross.

I'm sure you will have a statistic somewhere that shows how many goals scored have a defenders intervention somewhere in the build up to the goal being scored.

My bet is that it is a fairly high percentage.
