FWIW Arlesey Town FC in the Zamaretto Central Div 1 had 9 points deducted recently for fielding an ineligible player in 3 games.

Out of interest they had, in that same week, secured the Championship with a win over AFC Hayes but the deduction put them 2nd by 2 points to Hitchin. Last game of the season today? Hitchin at home to Arlesey, result 0-1, so Arlesey win the Championship twice in a week.

Earlier this month Daventry had 6 points deducted in the same league for same offence.

Different league, different rules I guess but if the case is proven QPR will not be playing in the PL next season.

To save "confusion" with the bookies and punters I wonder whether they might be confirmed as official trophy winners, given no points deduction, but relegated 1 division for the offences, thus playing in the Championship next season. Possible announced as 2 division relegation and reduced to 1 on appeal which I think was what happened to Swindon a decade or 2 ago.

You are obviously easily embarrassed. We are by no means the only set of fans discussing QPR on messageboards up and down the Championship. The decision could have massive repercussions on automatic promotion and indeed the play-offs. All this talk of fines is premature. There may well be a few "oofs" on this messageboard when their penalty is finally announced.

Two minds about this - one part of me wants the book thrown at them, simply for the hilarity, the other part doesn't want them in the playoffs if that's where the punishment puts them!

left it too late for a points deduction now surely - how would the appeals process work with the play-offs just around the corner?

imagine the club in 3rd position will sue a la Sheffield Utd

Too late would be having a hearing in June. The hearing is before the end of the season. Its not too late. If QPR did appeal and we don't know whether they would(irrespective of their current posture) an Emergency Appeal hearing would doubtless take place.

Also the fact that a points deduction will almost certainly (barring a miracle from us) mean a Welsh side in the Premier league.

The correct answer to all of this is that QPR are denied promotion and the 18th placed premiership team don't get relegated. Any appeal will then have no bearing on playoffs and can be settled before fixture lists are finalised.

Just realised something.

As the table stands now, if QPR are relegated for these offences

they save Sheffield United from relegation

What goes around, comes around...?

QPR will not be relegated to League 1. There is no precedent for that.

no team has done what they have done, and the rules were changed only last year, so obviously there is no precedent

^ Exactly.

No club have been accused of doing all of these things at once. Particularly the cover up charge.

Completely different set of offences.

True, but arguably they aren't in great form: just had draws with Cardiff and Hull, while Norwich are romping. Maybe I'd rather have QPR in the playoffs than Norwich or Cardiff.

Snowball Why such fear of Swansea?

In the home game we had 51% possession (surprises me since Swansea have a lot of tippy-tappy possession)
and we had more shots (9 to their 7) 3-5 on target. We were done by a good goal from Swansea's POV
but I thought our defence dealt poorly with Sinclair's break from midfield.

In the away game we only had 45% possession, and though the stats say they had 11 shots on target,
if my memory serves me right most were the same kind of shot, a half opening about 18-20 yards out
and shots that were fairly comfortable for Federici.

Church also missed an absolute sitter two yards out after Long headed down to him
and missed a more difficult, but clear heading chance.

They are clearly NOT as good as back then, on a poor run of form, crap away from home.

We are on a fantastic run of form. We had two single-goal defeats in FEBRUARY, a late-ish goal by QPR
and a 94th minute goal at Norwich where we played with ten men for 39 minutes and conceded in the 94th minute.

ALL FOUR DEFEATS WERE WITHOUT L-WOOD PLAYING. WITH HIM PLAYING WE REMAIN UNDEFEATED IN THE LEAGUE.

Only just seen this. I'm not just fearing Swansea based on their performance at the Mad Stad, but also on the other two matches that i've seen them in. (Wasn't at the away game so can't comment on that.)
