Terminal Boardom And Maidenhead go marching on with a thoroughly deserved 2-1 win at Staines. Winner coming in something like the 88th minute. Crowd of 271.

Could stay up Saturday if Thurrock lose on Friday, superb turnaround in fortunes! :D

Having sat through a seasons worth of utter gash that wouldn't be fit to grace a Sunday League match, I actaully think Maidenhead's results in the last few games are all just some kind of hoax. I have not seen them win in the league since August and in any game for 6 months.

By all accounts the price on Maiders collapsed to odds on. It would be so easy to pull off a betting coup in a game like this, Staines with nothing to play for etc. But then again i dont think it would take much money to have the bookies ducking for cover in a Conf South Game.

And I have not seen such a huge programme in years. This thing is almost A4 in size. No wonder that it is called The Staines Massive

... and this PMs (Easter Sat) NL interest - for those of us mad enough to brave the B/H Traffic:-

CONFS
Bishop's Stortford v St Albans
Farnborough v Woking
Havant and W v Lewes
Maidenhead Utd v Dorchester
Weston-S-Mare v Staines Town

... today (Good Friday) saw Braintree win 1-0 & the Beavers - three more points from their two remaining games (H v Welling; A v W-S-M) and they are Champs
.. and 'stoke got thumped 0-3 @ Dover.
Bromley bt Dartford 4-1
Thurrock got a point 1-1 @ Welling so Maidenhead will need to keep their good run going to be safe - Bps Stortford also now below Magpies are at bottom placed St Albans.

ISTH1S
Chipstead v Godalming Town
Fleet Town v Merstham
... got to a game in this league today (Good Friday) M25 was OK-ish, though the bit from Bracknell-> Bagshot was sh!te. Made it round to Whyteleafe 2-6 Leatherhead - a cracker in v.hot weather.

SOUTHP
Banbury United v Truro City
Bedford Town v Salisbury City
Chippenham Town v Cambridge City
Cirencester Town v Didcot Town
SOUTH1C
Arlesey Town v Uxbridge
Ashford Town (Middx) v Marlow
Burnham v Leighton Town
Slough Town v Biggleswade Town
SOUTH1S&W
Hungerford Town v Frome Town
North Leigh v Andover
Thatcham Town v Almondsbury Town - strong possibility this will be 'The Almonds' one and only season at STEP04 - they've been booted out of their home by the Gloucs FA and can't find a suitable ground nearby with necessary grading criteria - I've read their Chairman is pondering dissolving the club altogether - in the Play-Off mix too!

COCOP
Badshot Lea v Chessington & Hook United
Camberley Town v Ash United
Cove v Chertsey Town
Dorking v Hanworth Villa
Epsom & Ewell v Egham Town
Guildford City v Croydon
Mole Valley SCR v Horley Town
Raynes Park Vale v Sandhurst Town
COCO1
Chobham v South Park
Eversley v Frimley Green
Farleigh Rovers v Hartley Wintney
Farnham Town v CB Hounslow United
Hayes Gate v Knaphill
Worcester Park v Farnborough North End

HELLP
Abingdon Town v Highworth Town
Ardley United v Slimbridge
Ascot United v Fairford Town
Flackwell Heath v Wootton Bassett Town
Kidlington v Witney United
Wokingham & Emmbrook v Shortwood United
... most issues resolved now this MW - Wantage won both their final games: 5-0 @ Bracknell and 2-1 vs long time leaders Ardley to grab the League Championship. However they've been denied promotion to the Southern League at the 11th hour over Planning Permission denial for a 6' fence round the ground - apparently the ground is visible from the Berkshire Downs so they can't build any 'view spoilers' - hmmmm hardly ranks up alongside Diddy Power Station does it?
RTFC won both their games at home this week to ensure safety - seemingly dragged Ray 'Razor' Spence out of semi-retirement from the Reading Leagues to play vs Carterton on Tuesday - natch he reportedly ripped them apart and scored two!
Binfield bt Wootton Bassett 7-1 and leap up to 2nd - host RTFC on Monday PM

HELL1E
Chalfont Wasps v Milton United
Finchampstead v Chinnor
Holyport v Penn & Tylers Green
Newbury v Rayners Lane
South Kilburn v Woodley Town - will possibly try and get here if the A404(M)/M40/A40 isn't completely ph£cked

WESS1
Tadley Calleva v Ringwood Town

That point Thurrock got yesterday really keeps the pressure on Maidenhead especially as has been mentioned Bishop's Stortford have a winnable game today as well. Fiver to get in today at Maidenhead as long as you have a voucher from this week's Maidenhead Advertiser.

Massive game at Diddy on monday at home to Oxford City. Diddy must win and hope Truro either beat or draw with Weymouth for diddy to survive.

...and the results from this PMs (Sat 23rd) NL matches:-

CONFS
Bishop's Stortford 4-0 St Albans
Farnborough 1-2 Woking
Havant and W 1-2 Lewes
Maidenhead Utd 1-1 Dorchester
Weston-S-Mare 2-1 Staines Town

ISTH1S
Chipstead 2-1 Godalming Town
Fleet Town 1-1 Merstham

SOUTHP
Banbury United 0-3 Truro City
Bedford Town 1-0 Salisbury City
Chippenham Town 1-0 Cambridge City
Cirencester Town 0-0 Didcot Town
Weymouth 3-0 Chesham Utd
- Truro are Champs – Diddy drop into bottom three two points behind Weymuff who go to Truro on BH Mon – Diddy host Oxford City.
SOUTH1C
Arlesey Town 3-1 Uxbridge
Ashford Town (Middx) 0-3 Marlow
Burnham 3-1 Leighton Town
Slough Town 3-2 Biggleswade Town
SOUTH1S&W
Hungerford Town 0-1 Frome Town
North Leigh 2-1 Andover
Thatcham Town 1-2 Almondsbury Town
- AFC Totton beaten 1-2 surprisingly at home by Mangotsfield Sholing 2 pts behind - both clubs play BH Monday away at Gosport and Wimborne respectively - a draw for Totton is enough to take top spot.
last Play Off slot is between Thatcham North Leigh and Hungerford.

COCOP
Badshot Lea 1-1 Chessington & Hook United
Camberley Town 2-1 Ash United
Cove 0-0 Chertsey Town
Dorking 2-2 Hanworth Villa
Epsom & Ewell 2-2 Egham Town
Guildford City 2-0 Croydon
Mole Valley SCR 2-2 Horley Town
Raynes Park Vale 2-1 Sandhurst Town
Wembley 2-1 Banstead Athletic
- looks like Guildford are back in the driving seat again for the title - have two games left to Chertsey's one - level on points but 10 goals better off - will secure Championship if they win at Ash Utd on Monday morning (11:30 KO). Chertsey make the short trip to close rivals Egham - KO at the same time.
COCO1
Chobham 1-4 South Park
Eversley 3-1 Frimley Green
Farleigh Rovers 5-2 Hartley Wintney
Farnham Town 2-0 CB Hounslow United
Hayes Gate 2-0 Knaphill
Worcester Park 6-0 Farnborough North End
Farnham Town are currently top play at Eversley on Monday AM but can be overhauled by Worcester Pk who have 3 to play - though Farnham may then get promotion in their place anyway due to ground criteria.
- bottom placed Chobham still have SIX matches left they seem to have 4 home games scheduled between Sat 30th Apr & Sat 7th May :?

HELLP
Abingdon Town 2-1 Highworth Town
Ardley United 4-1 Slimbridge
Ascot United 6-2 Fairford Town
Flackwell Heath 4-0 Wootton Bassett Town
Kidlington 1-2 Witney United
Pegasus Jrs 0-4 Reading Town – 2 more for Ray Spence
Wokingham & Emmbrook 1-2 Shortwood United
- Binfield will nick Runners-Up slot should they beat RTFC on Monday.
HELL1E
Chalfont Wasps 4-1 Milton United
Finchampstead 4-1 Chinnor
Holyport 5-1 Penn & Tylers Green
Newbury 0-1 Rayners Lane
South Kilburn 3-3 Woodley Town - tried to go here - turned up 14:30 ish to see game in progress - Woodley were 2-1 up - reportedly had kicked off at 14:00  - no sign of a programme either so will leave this for a later date when I'm positive about KO time - may have been some confusion re BH KO time which DOES show 14:00 for Monday's game. Both clubsites clearly showed 15:00 for today (Sat) though.
- trudged the 200 odd yds across the Sports Complex and into Wembley FC for the full game there.

Think that gave Truro a record 6 promotions in 7 seasons (they were a Screwfix Western League side in 2005) don't think any club has ever matched that in British football.

Apparently a sad capitulation from Didcot Town today saw them lose 3-0 at home to mid table Oxford City and they are relegated. A win would have seen them safe,

Maidenhead are still looking over their shoulders at Thurrock who occupy the final unsettled relegation place three points behind the Magpies with the same goal difference. Means a point would be enough for Maidenhead at home to Dartford next Saturday but they have a woeful home record.

Thats a shame, I thought Adie W had got a few decent results together recently to ensure their safety..................this being despite their deductions and restrictions.

Bedford Town, the team that he left seem safe

Things looked much brighter for Didcot a few weeks back but as is usual some of the struggling sides results picked up and Didcot's levelled off again particularly when they could only draw at home to bottom Club Halesowen. Adrian Williams has said he will meet with the Chairman to see if he is to continue as Manager in what will probably be the Southern League South and West.

Two Berkshire Clubs are in Zameretto League Play Off semi-final action on Thursday although both are away. Slough travel to Hitchin in the Central Division and Thatcham are at Sholing in the South and West Division.

You probably know that the play off semi finals in this league are played as one off matches. Was going to say they were one legged affairs but in case Paul McCartney reads this thread I didn't want to stir up unhappy memories.

Hitchin got a remarkable crowd (for that level) of 1508 for their title decider v Arlesey.

When are the 2nd leg and final matches? (or is there no 2nd leg, just a final?)
