So are qpr going to get their just deserts on Friday or not? What's your prediction?

Where's the option for "How could anyone other than Doylerisaroyaler and the FA panel (once they've heard all the evidence) know?"

It will be a fine + points - so it's difficult to vote really!

8 or 9 points deduction, meaning they could miss out on promotion depending on Saturdays results

general football surely??

Mark Palios was on Radio Four this morning and apparently said he was expecting QPR to get a ten point-plus penalty. Not sure that any of this helps us particularly. It might have done had we finished third.

What if they're found "not guilty"?

I suspect there won't be any punishment.

Relegation to Div 1 for me

So is that a "what do you think will happen" or a "what would you like to happen" poll?

Is it worse than what Swindon did all those years back?

It's different. It's different to everything before - since the rules allegedly broken were rules brought in recently, as a result of the "Tevez saga"

I think it will just be a fine as that was what happened to West Ham

Quite different case and that was held by the PL, not the FA.

I'm not sure a poll was appropriate in this instance.

No one seems to have thought of the possibility the FA could give them a large points deduction, but suspend the sentence for three years or whatever, and if in this time there are no more misdemeanours it won't get served.

Seems like it
A) Shows the FA will give out points deductions, but
B) Won't upset the finishing order of the leauge so QPR don't appeal.

I wouldnt be at all surprised if this happens.

What was Swindon's offense and was it worse than QPR's?

The difference between this and West Ham is that the rule relating to third party ownership did not exist at that time. They were charged with a failure to supply correct documentation. The QPR case is the first brought specifically following the introduction of the rules after Tevez and if proven surely the FA would want to give a strong message. If not then why bother bringing in the rules?
The charge relating to the use of an unauthorised agent is similar to the one Luton were deducted 10 points for in 2008.
Finally, 2 charges relate to supplying false information in documents submitted to the FA after the previous alleged breaches were discovered. This surely is potentially the most serious charge since it implies a deliberate action, whereas it might be possible to ague administrative errors for the other charges

But it will just be a fine none the less. They will make an amendment to the rules after this case. Saying the punishment will be docked points plus a fine.

It may also be significant that the FA has recently had a lot of criticism at the DCMS Enquiry into Football Governance about being unfit to govern and also has a relatively new Chairman who is determined to rectify this.

If ever there was a time for the FA to be seen to be taking a firm lead on governing the game, now is that time!
