it was a good run but its over. start the fire sale excuses. rumors of an nonexistent warchest. all that typical pre season hype and come to the same conclusion. empty promises.

I certainly don't feel that gloomy. Yes they were clearly there for the taking & we weren't clinical enough but we were unlucky not to win that.

They ain't all that & we can beat them in the 2nd leg.

I actually feel more confident now than I did yesterday.

BMD HAS to stay here next season, anyone saying otherwise is talking nonsense - the job he has done with the lack of resources from the chairman has been sensational. Agree with the rest though, same old Reading in the play-offs, won't be enough as usual. Lady luck once again decides to injure two of our right wingers, same old story, loads of pressure just like the burnley and wolves ties at home and they always hang on, we never get the break or get the goal. Manset and hunt were utter, utter gash. Manset has got to be the worst striker i've seen at the club since the turn of the millennium, absolute rotten player. Poor fitness, no vision, terrible first touch. Awful. Noel hunt is never a right winger but even when he was playing up front he was as blunt as a spoon. His shot in the first half with HRK in acres of space just about sums him up.

Championship next season, thanks for the memories shane long.

What exactly makes you think Cardiff were any better than us because from where I was sitting they're not? They're there for the taking.

I do think Swans will be a step too far but in one off games anything can happen.

This 2nd leg is on a knife edge - the Cardiff team & fans are just as nervous as us. It is a coin toss as to who will pull through & I wouldn't be surprised to see it go to pens.

The boys put in a decent shift tonight.....every single one of them & I never thought we'd get 5th so well done lads whatever happens on Tue.

Agreed. I don't have a problem with Craig Bellamy like some do. he always gives 100% but Bothroyd is a diving whinger. The England call-up has really gone to his head.

I really enjoyed that game. We certainly surpassed my expectations.

Every single player played their heart out tonight, imo. The ref was questionable on a number of occasions - I nearly popped a blood vessel at some points. How can he book McAnuff and yet not Chopra? Bellamy going off injured was the turning point really - I really think they all look to him and the team is built around him - if it's a hamstring and he's out on Tuesday then it's still all there for the taking. Hopefully Howard Webb won't fall for the diving cheats, the time wasting, the somewhat feigned injuries and the obvious shirt pulling, hands round our players necks as I witnessed this evening.

We didn't have too many shots, but neither did Cardiff - if we can re-group, recover and hopefully have Jimmy - we can nick this by the odd goal.

Looking forward to Tuesday. Come on URZZZZZZZZ!!!

Exactly! Don't understand all the doom mongers. They've done us proud tonight. Yes we missed Kebe but that's hardly a surprise!
