Tony Le Mesmer To anyone who lives within an hour of the ground, ive got no sympathy if you booked through ticketzone.

Why exactly??!! Some people have to work for a living & can't take half a day off to stand outside the ground. Furthermore, an online ticket operator that sells tickets on behalf of the country's biggest sporting venue should work adequately - it didn't.

Wasn't it only through ticketzone that you could purchase more than 6 tickets? :|

Nope, through TZ you could only get up to 8 tickets. I think you could get as many as you liked over the phone or in person, with the relevent member numbers of course.

Not sure about that, the (only) person in front of me in the queue bought 8 with 4 ST. Anyway only takes 2 of you to go and you could get 12 tickets.

Other than for those living away, Cant for the life of me think why anyone would go through the inevitable hassle of booking, confirming payment and waiting for delivery when you can just roll up to the ground, ticket in hand with no admin fee.

I'm not sure that's right. It just seems like they provide a rubbish service.

Correct. 15 purchased in person at TO. A row of 7 and a row of 8 behind.

the great unknown was how long the queues at the MadStad would be - how many people are able to just drop everything to spend potentially 3 or 4 hours queueing, when they ought to be able to do things quickly and easily on t'interweb?

There were queues though. I saw them on the tv and everything. :|

If a service is offered, as previously stated, by a provider to Wembley stadium, why shouldn't people be able to trust in it and use it for ease?

MmmMonsterMunch ... it didn't.

This is the key point some people are overlooking, for whatever reasons people chose to use the on-line service, it wasn't just a matter of being frustratingly slow or a poor choice with hindsight - IT DIDN'T WORK, IT FAILED in many instances, when many on-line booking systems for Wembley sized crowds (and bigger) work fine (and faster).

Everyone's a plastic once - the real test is whether the new people come back again after Monday.

Sorry but have had to buy numerous "in-demand" tickets over the years for gigs, festivals etc etc with thousands more people online at the same time & never have I encountered such incompetence.

The site couldn't handle the web traffic at all & didn't work properly. Buying tickets online is not exactly a new concept. Ticketzone online was fcuking sh1t end of.

They'd have been much better off using someone like Ticketmaster tbf, and I fukking h8 them. Guessing TZ are very cheap in comparison though.

Oh well, i guess if the ticket website didn't work then at least the game is on TV so people will still get to see it even if their tickets don't arrive.

TBF, I presume buying "in-demand" tickets from other sites normally don't require the site to also interface with a database of membership numbers provided by a 3rd party. No excuses, but I bet that was the main source of the problem.

I have season-ticket holding friends whose first game was the 95 final. Didn't Mags say his first game was the Simod final?

Maybe....but the site still couldn't handle the volume of traffic going through. My guess would be about 10-15k people were trying on Thu morning - a site like ticketmaster / seetickets could handle 10-15 times that amount of traffic if not more without crashing & chucking you out.
