The concourse layouts are wholly inadequate when we have anything near 20000 attending - I'm up for expansion even if only to give more room.

Have you been to the Ricoh? Now that is inadequate. Ours is palacious in comparison.

I wouldn't term my mother-in-law with any term that included "Long term"

Do you know how old she is?

That's probably because unless PL football is with us or at least on the horizon there's no point in discussing anything about it as the club certainly won't expand the ground unless we are in the PL

Svlad Cjelli Somewhere in the previous 67 pages there is a pretty detailed cost-benefit analysis, ISTR.

It basically all comes down to two different schools of thoughts :

a) Schards and others who believe that you need to consistently be sure of filling extra capacity before it's worth having;

b) Those who believe that its worthwhile having extra capacity because even if you don't fill it all the time you can do things like give cheap tickets to the next generation of Royals supporters.

Where (a) and (b) diverge is just on personal levels of risk-acceptance and optimism.

you missed out:

c) those who are against it because they'd get booted out of their seat to make way for a better class of supporter.

(and before you pedants start I know I don't actually own the seat I've sat in for 12 seasons)

So IF we go up and IF we stay up and IF we consolidate that position - maybe Summer 2014.

Sebastian So I spend a year or two trying to bump this oxf*rd thread with The Office and Alan Partridge quotes with very little success, and then it gets an easy two pages just because we're in the play offs. Pathetic.

As this is the only thread that I've ever started that has gone to more than a couple of pages I, for one, will not let it die. Pathetic - Yes.

I was short of time so I thought I'd combine them.

Anyway according to this it does exist:

it has been discussed albeit briefly in the tsi thread on the team board, and some here too - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=56602&start=60

in response to safe standing, which is becoming more likely to return to english football, and has been give the go-ahead in scotland; and is already in place in germany:

Harpers So Solid Crew IMHO it wont happen untill we extend, there seems no need to change it as it currently is, when we extend, we could push executive boxes round the North

not with the agreed plans in place we can't. there wont be a second tier added to the north, east or south, it's just a bolt on design.

Boxes could be put in where they show the first bank of seats in the extension, may need a extra floor here or there, but it could be possible, Obv i am not sure if it can be done as not an engineer, but looks feasable.

if you read the above it says it isn't in the clubs plans. they will build straight onto the existing structure with no extra boxes added.

Yes it wasnt in the plans, I think they should add it to the plans, which is all I have been saying all along, seats can be used match days, boxes are used for a lot more between games, and popular so I understand, perhaps they could also add atrwavelodge under it as well.

More facilities, comfy bars, etc, and a crazy fly over from the Dome to Grazely, with a three storey car park.

OK getting a bit silly now.

If they widen the concourses, they should stick a mezz floor in, with more refreshment outlets.
More outlets = shorter queues = people more inclined to queue up and buy stuff.
