Wembley Stadium preparations....

by No Fixed Abode » 27 May 2011 11:15

So Wembley needed TWO weeks to get the stadium ready for the CL final, and only two DAYS to get ready for the Championship play off final....

What the fack have they been doing for two weeks?

Pandering to UEFA's silly whims.

Not two weeks to get it ready - they just won't let anyone play on the pitch for two weeks beforehand. Terms of contract.

I'm pretty sure that the PROFESSIONAL grounds staff at the country's foremost stadium can deal with two matches in 3 days.

There's never been any question about the pitch - the only question is about all the branding, hospitality and advertising stuff etc - and that just need UEFA to f*ck off on time and the FL people to put in a hard day's graft/

How is there even a question about it, though? They're professionals doing a job. It's like asking: 'Do you think McAnuff will remember to catch the bus to the ground on Monday?'

It is different because they've usually had all 3 play-offs back to back at the same ground, so have always had a lot more time. Do they have to bring stuff in from Manchester after the Sunday final, for instance?

I see what you're getting at, but surely there's nothing to worry about? They're not going to cancel a £90mil game for the sake of a couple of banners. I'm sure it's all under control.

I don't think there will be a problem - but some months ago there was some concern from within the FL.

Oh right, didn't realise you were 'in the know' (so to speak) - how do you know about the FL's internal machinations?

Stadiums use signage contractors not ground staff (even the MadStad does) to handle venue branding per event who are in and out of there in a flash.

Wembley will probably be ready for our game by midnight on Saturday.

TheMaraudingDog All the work that needs to be done to take down the advertising etc from the big game on Saturday has to be done by Monday, and then all the new boardings put up. Not to mention different segregation and the state of the pitch.

Can't help but think Wembley won't be as it should be and they dont really care for little old RFC

tHe big game is on Monday. Ours is worht a lot more than the CL final. :D :D
