He didn't move his arm at all.. so I'm not sure if you're talking about the same incident.

I'm not saying it should have been a pen and would have been annoyed to have such a one given against but that was the same as the kind of penalty they were given.

He wanted to be involved at every moment, utter c0ck!

Still want to know what Tabby and Gibbs said at halftime.

If you defend like a bunch of pcunts this is what happens..

However Dowd was utterly appalling for us. Terrible ref who wants a name for himself. In no way is he to blame for us losing but my god he didn't half make it difficult for us.

I'm sorry, but that is just not true. Our defenders hacked down their players. Absolutely nailed on penalties, both of them. Hunt's cross smacked into guy's arm that was by his side as he was trying to pull it out of the way.

Seeing as, particularly in the first half, he seemed to award a free kick against us for what appeared to be perfectly legitimate tackles time after time, I would counter argue that the ref was partly responsible for us losing. He gave too much advantage to Swansea whilst simultaneously giving us nothing.

If you can stomach watching the re-run on TV, being a fair-minded individual, I think you may see it differently.

I'm planning on watching it - maybe later - I recorded it. I'll see if it changes my mind. I can't help but think that if Tabb and Gibbs saw cause to swear at the ref and SJM appeared to blame him, then we can't all be wrong in what we're thinking.

Nothing like a bit of dignity in defeat.

RL, to see how grown ups handle defeat please see United Barca thread 8)

We're not all wrong.

Thing is, watching it live on TV, there were several times when I thought Dowd had made a poor decision and had a little rant, but EVERY TIME they showed it again I had to admit he'd got it right.

The blokes a retard and spoilt the game today by stopping every time there was contact.

Typical premiership ref.

Sorry Mr Smarm, I didn't make myself clear - I mean those of us who believe that Dowd was a shit ref today and his decisions, particularly in the first half, went against us time and again and didn't help us in the least.

Our defence was woeful end of story. Dowd can't be blamed for that!

I was dreading a 5-0 hammering, it seems that Swansea were scoring at will. Good to see an attempt at a comeback in the second half.

Dowd was terrible, Kish shouldn't have got the initial booking and every Reading tackle ended with a foul and he started booking players way too early for nothing in particular. Seemed much more reasonable in the 2nd half but was too late by then..

Apparently, we're wrong - Rother saw it on TV and the ref was spot on every time.

this. premier league refs aren't used to the physicality of championship games and therefore it's no surprise he awarded free kicks for slight contact...

Royal Rother
Percy's Rocket Sorry ..both penalties were questionable...

They really were not in the slightest.

Dowd had an excellent game. The only really poor decision he made was not to send off Kish.

Obviously Tabb and Gibbs, who naturally have no idea about this sport called called football, thought Dowd had a wonderful first half, hence their desire to let him know.

"Dowd had an excellent game" - no Mr Rother, he didn't
