Marcus Hahnemann released by Wolves

--------------------------------------------
Wolves have released United States international keeper Marcus Hahnemann after two seasons at Molineux.

Hahnemann, 38, joined Wolves on a free transfer from Reading in June 2009 and made 44 appearances for the Premier League club.

"Marcus has been fantastic for us - both in his performances on the pitch and influence off it," Wolves manager Mick McCarthy told the club's website

"He was a great character to have around the place."

Hahnemann is currently with his national team for the Gold Cup tournament in the United States.

McCarthy added: "It was a pleasure for all of us to have him in the squad for the last two years and we wish him all the very best for the next stage of his career."
-----------------------------------------------------

Do you think he'll get another UK club or that he'll be off back to the States?

I'd certainly have him as a backup/mentor to McCarthy if he was willing to do it for the money

Is this to do with getting free tickets for Reading Festival?

The one position we're not short of is goalkeepers!

I'd take him on a pay as you play back up to McCarthy if Feds goes basis.

But I suspect it's home time for him.

Seattle, Portland and Vancouver all now have MLS teams so I can see him heading back to the Pacific Northwest.

Are we short of a goalkeeping coach at the moment? Sal Bibbo seems to be doing pretty well.....

Could be useful if the coach breaks down. My money is on the big fella going back to the States with his bikes, guns and hot tub 8)
