Ian Royal That would be a good move for Mills.

our money back plus £2m. step forward pearce (better) and the young and promising morrison and with it more pace in the back four. i like mills, he shows a lot of promise but he still makes far to many mistakes, lunges into too many needless challenges and gives away needless free-kicks. his temper holds him back too. for £3m this would be good for both parties, but we will need to bring in a replacement with Ivar also leaving.

Morrison is slower than Mills so good luck with that added pace...

Big Foot Mills may get turned easily but he is still relatively pacey - I think a lot of people are happy to make stuff up when they've got a vendetta against players

roadrunner If we have to lose Long and Kebe I'd rather we didn't lose anyone else. Give Mills the Hunt, Long and Doyle contract extention and chuck in a sizeable release clause and hold onto Mills for one more year. If he continues to impress then we can look at this next year and get more out of it.
What do we have in terms of centre backs? Pearce, Mills and Morrison? Gunnarsson for cover. £3m might sound nice but we're already two centre backs light on last season.

Ian Royal Harte too. And I fancy that if we sell Mills we'll bring someone in, maybe not someone polished admittedly. Long is the only big loss to us, Kebe not far off, everyone else is relatively easily replaceable, even if replacing anyone is always a gamble in football.

under the tin ... but the question remains as to how much of that money Brian will be allowed to use, and how flexible the wage budget is.
Frankly, I would not be in the least surprised if the club decided to "go with what we've got" in the short term, and keep the powder dry until January.
