PlasticRoyale Does anyone else think Adam is massively over rated? Tidy enough player but i'd hate to see him at Utd

He was brilliant for Blackpool last season so in that respect no, but can't help having a feeling he might be one of those players who stands out in a poor team; I guess Liverpool will find out in August - presumably Adam would complete a midfield triangle with Gerrard and Lucas.

Yup.

And Liverpool will finally be in a position where they have more than a first team of good players.

Now just to buy 2 (more) full-backs, another striker, another keeper, and 2 more wingers. :|

^That said, a lot of Liverpool's success (or otherwise) next season will continue to involve young players like Spearing, Robinson and Flanagan.

Why would you spend £20m on a player only for him to sit on the bench.

Well leaving aside that there isn't really such thing as a bench player any more given squad rotation, I just figure if Adam signs, he might be 'first choice'.

Forgot Meireles too.

Henderson may well find he starts his Liverpool career on the right side of midfield.

Was thinking that, but i hope not.......England need him to play in the centre of midfield, we have enough wide players who can play on the right.

^like Steven Gerrard, whose crossfield passes have a better chance of staying in p[lay if he starts them 30 yards further wide

Why pay £50m for a striker who's going to score 1 goal against a team bottom of the league?

I expect he'll add a few more next season.. The biggest LOL is still £35m for Carroll. He is never worth that, not even half yet. And there are clubs currently scoffing at Chelsea's £20m valuation of Sturridge.

Flanagan became my favourite Liverpool player ever at the end of last season when he knocked Jamie pfucking Carragher clean out.

Yeah I agree in a way, much like Rooney or Wilshire we need these youngsters playing and learning their trade in their best positions. However, I also think it's good for players to learn by playing elsewhere so that they're given a broader education on, and appreciation of, the game around them.

End of the day though, from what I've seen, Henderson shouldn't really be in or around the England team for a while so has plenty of time on his side (not sure who should be ahead of him these days mind, what with Lampard soon to be retired and Barry on his way out too).

Liverpool apparently in for Clichy, Dann, Adam and Wickham, all by the start of July.

Sky Sports News reporting that Kevin Nolan is having a medical at West Ham; obviously a less derisory offer has been made then!

He shouldn't find it too hard staying in the Premiership. It has to be about money. They got Faye as well who's taken a surprising step down. Ching ching. Bloody hate West Ham, David Gold and David Sullivan.

The Big Sam factor may have something to do with it.

To be fair to Nolan, he was one of those who could have jumped ship when Newcastle got relegated but he not only stayed but was arguably the stand out player in the division that season. He certainly doesn't owe Newcastle anything in my view. That said I'd imagine he'll be on a very hefty "Promtion bonus" at West Ham.

Liverpool are also trying to persuade Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain of the merits of a move to Anfield rather than the Emirates.
