Mills can be the best defender in the Championship when he's at his best, without doubt. Some of his performances this season such as Cardiff, Everton and even Swansea to an extent were Premiership quality. However, he does have his moments of stupidity. I seem to remember at home to Ipswich the ball was high on the air and instead of clearing it he let it bounce which let Scotland (?) run through on goal.

I disagree. That's just a rumour at best.

Ian Royal Jay facepalm moment there.

Because he's obviously ambitious and thinks he's very good - what PROOF do you have that Mills thinks he's very good? Why do people insist on stating stuff as if it's fact when they have no oxf*rd idea? You're alluding that he thinks he's better than he is. Which I dispute as I've never seen anything to suggest this. What you mean is, YOU don't think he's very good.

Yeah, I always thought Mills was a good player. Then I imagined him punching a Red Squirrel, and don't rate him anymore - what can drive someone to do a thing like that in my head is beyond me.

I wasn't alluding to any such thing. Stop reading what you want to see so you can have an argument with me.

What makes you think Mills isn't ambitious and doesn't think he's any good? Give me one shred of an example of him being unambitious, or not confident in his own ability? Or are you stating stuff as fact without any oxford idea?

What makes me think he is, is the way he conducts himself. The rumours of how he stood up to Rodgers (to be applauded), his interviews, particularly the one about wanting to make it to Wembley for the FA Cup SFs. Lots of things, it's about reading body language and behaviour.

Bollox.

You don't like him, you say as much all the time on here.

I have no idea whether he thinks a lot of himself or not, but I don't go around saying anything on here like it's fact.

Hmm. Well I think he sometimes acts a little cocky on the pitch, but I quite like that – the man is confident and is enjoying himself.

But trust us to sell our captain without batting an eyelid. I hope JM remembers we need at least 11 players left to field a team.

Wolves and Matt Mills

by Reading777 » 22 Jun 2011 17:01

Interesting comments today from the Wolves Chairman regarding the on-going transfer saga of Matt Mills and their top target Roger Johnson.
See Link Below:
http://www.shropshirestar.com/sport/wol ... her-clubs/

Do you agree/disagree with his comments about clubs "getting real" regarding the fees they demand for their top players?

I for one, feel a fee in the region of £4m for Matt Mills would represent good business for both clubs, only if we must sell and so long as a fair proportion of the fee is re-invested into our clubs infastructure such as the academy plus contiuned development of the players we already have waiting in the wings such as Morrison etc.
My knowledge of Roger Johnson's worth isn't adequate enough to make comment.

Welcome to the board; the general greeting to a new poster is "F**K OFF NEWBIE", so consider that done.

Whilst I'm not a mod, nor one of the board pedants, I'm sure someone will point out the error of your ways in starting a new thread when one already exists on the subject; expect pictures of Ken Dodd shortly.

In answer to the actual thread (after all the preliminaries have been completed) the Chairman of Wolves can go and do one; Matt Mills is OUR player, under contract to US, and if Wolves want to buy him, they offer us what we think he is worth, rather than what the Wolves chairman thinks he is worth.

Thanks for the kind welcome, your comments noted and it won't be long before I'm upto speed with board & thread navigation!

In terms of the Wolve's Chairman, I agree with your thoughts, to many clubs think they can have it on their own terms when they spot a player who's doing relatively well elsewhere and may add value to what they already have. The Wolves management seem to be big RFC fan boys and at the rate there going with ex Reading player their be changing from a gold strip to blue and white hoops!

Not bollox. I don't like him. That has nothing to do with what I said in the post you're being petty about.

2) Matt Mills thread on Unfounded Rumours and Gossip
3) He's right, transfers are ridiculously over-inflated, though not nearly as much as wages.
