Sorry IR - know this wont be happy reading for you :)

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey is ready to pull the plug on major deals if they are not closed soon.

Efforts to bring defensive targets Roger Johnson and Matt Mills to Molineux have hit deadlock, with both Birmingham and Reading unwilling to drop their demands into line with what Wolves are prepared to pay.

Yesterday, chairman Steve Morgan warned clubs must ‘get real’ over their demands.

And Moxey has now revealed Wolves have sounded out other clubs so they can still strengthen their defence if they miss out on the pair.

Moxey said: “We have got feelers out to a number of clubs. So we either start getting serious now or we move on.

“We are now telling clubs to make a decision. We need to get things done and what we’re saying is ‘if you don’t want to do business, we’ll forget it and move on.’

Sound like Bugs won round 1....but can he win the fight ???.....

Royal Rother If he thought that was going to work he must be a bit of a plank. A very rich one, but a plank nonetheless.

Around the £100,000,000 mark she got wasn't it?

Yes, it was around £100m, but he is worth around £350m. The guy is a typical hairy arse builder made good. He lives not to far away from me and can certainly be regarded as a "character". Between Morgan, Jez Moxey and Mick McCarthy I can imagine Wolves' board meetings are a proper toss fest!

If we stand our ground they will go away.

Oh, woe is me! I'm devastated Mills isn't definitely going yet!! Why don't we just pay someone to take him off our hands!!! He's the worst defender I've ever seen!!!! We'll conceed a million goals for sure if he plays just one game next season!!!!!

It's all just sabre-rattling for the benefit of the papers.

Apparently Reading are not allowed to sell any players in the close season - and have to buy a whole new team.

Nope. Just that fans hope we can either keep hold of core players, or replace them with people who have played football before, or weren’t present at the match played in no-mans land during the Christmas Truce of 1914.

i absolutely detest wolves and that upstart morgan. we do not have to sell, we run our club a lot more sensibly than wolves and the majority of others, so do one and move on to these other targets of yours.

Wolves seem relatively well run, and it's exactly the sort of thing Madejski might say. So I don't know why you're having a pop at him. It's just part of the transfer game playing. Talk down your interest and their value to put pressure on reducing the price.

Wolves had publicly said a few years ago that they're "following the Reading model".

so did stoke, and then they spent twice our record signing fee on a few players and paid wages upward of 50k.

roadrunner
DOYLERSAROYALER "Get real with transfer fees" says the chairman who sanctioned the £3m purchase of SHunt

....obviously had a weak moment :)

Mills is worth more than Shunt is ...and seeing that they have openly stated they are desperate for central defenders , it wont help their bargaining position imho

But defenders tend to sell for less than strikers and midfielders. £3-4m for Matt Mills is great and we only paid £1m for him don't forget. The other potential million was based on promotion and other extras.

Phil Jones to Manure - c£15m
Ashley Young to Manure - c£15m

parity there tbh .......and Matt Mils is a far better investment to a club than SHunt ....so if Wolves think Shunt is worth £3m then they need to realise that they arent going to get Mills for less imho

Hunt had proven Premier League quality and several seasons experience at that level. And he is a goal creator. The only thing Mills has going for him over SHunt is age and potential.

2 seasons isn't several. Besides we'll sell at the price we want to sell at - we don't have to sell him. If they want him, they'll have to pay that price. That's the way it works and if Morgan doesn't like it then he can f*ck off.

Besides I hate Wolves. Horrific club.

From Football 365's Friday Quiz

Doncaster fans used to sing of Matt Mills: 'He's better than John Terry/He sh*gs her off the telly.' Which TV show did the young lady in question appear in? Extra point if you know her name.

That will teach lardarse Moxey that bullying tactics dont work...think thats round 2 to bugs !

Skysports.com understands Reading have turned down a second offer from Wolves for defender Matt Mills.

The former Doncaster Rovers centre-half has emerged as a prime target for Wolves as Mick McCarthy looks to boost his squad for next season.

An initial offer was rejected earlier this month and the Royals have now snubbed a fresh approach from the Premier League club for Mills.

It is understood that Wolves have so far offered in the region of £3million for Mills, while Reading are looking for a figure nearer the £4million mark.

Wolves chairman Jez Moxey revealed earlier this week that it may be time for the club to move on to other targets after also struggling to agree a deal for Birmingham City defender Roger Johnson

I think calling it "bullying tactics" is a bit over the top. It's all just sabre-rattling, probably designed to try and demonstrate to Wolves fans that things are happening.

In reality, Jez Moxey & Nigel Howe are the best of mates.

Svlad....its positioned like the Wolves duo are looking down at Reading saying " be real on the fee,now give us the player "....sabre rattling, bully tactics, call it whatever, but carrying out your transfer negotations in the media is poor anyway ..

....i just want to see them stick to their words and walk away to their "other interests" as they have now put in a second bid after saying they would walk away ...

as for JM and NH being best mates, well suited....both tossers

I know we're just holding out for more cash but I really hope the real reason is sjm flipping the finger to that tw*t moxey! I'm all for players moving on to 'develop' as that's football but I hate how we're turning into wolves feeder club
