DOYLERSAROYALER "Get real with transfer fees" says the chairman who sanctioned the £3m purchase of SHunt

....obviously had a weak moment :)

Mills is worth more than Shunt is ...and seeing that they have openly stated they are desperate for central defenders , it wont help their bargaining position imho

But defenders tend to sell for less than strikers and midfielders. £3-4m for Matt Mills is great and we only paid £1m for him don't forget. The other potential million was based on promotion and other extras.

Phil Jones to Manure - c£15m
Ashley Young to Manure - c£15m

parity there tbh .......and Matt Mils is a far better investment to a club than SHunt ....so if Wolves think Shunt is worth £3m then they need to realise that they arent going to get Mills for less imho

If Young had had 3-4 years left on his Villa contract and not 1 then he would have gone for £25m plus some!

sounds like Jez has thrown his rattle out after that latest rumour ...... :D

Wolves deny second Matt Mills bid
Friday 24th June 2011, 11:05AM BST.
Wolves today reacted angrily at claims they have had a second bid rejected for Reading defender Matt Mills.

The 24-year-old Royals captain is believed to be ready to leave the Madejski Stadium amid Premier League interest.

A report today suggested Wolves have had a second offer turned down for the centre-back.

But the Express & Star has been told that any suggestion of the bid is totally inaccurate.

Wolves insist there hasn’t been any second offer and the news has sparked fury and frustration behind the scenes at Molineux, as the transfer ‘cat and mouse’ game continues.

Reading’s valuation is understood to be £4million, but it’s believed Wolves won’t pay that for a player with only a year left on his contract who can walk away for nothing in a year’s time.

Wolves believe Reading are trying to create an auction to generate more interest in their star asset and therefore drive up the price to inflated levels.

With Mills understood to be keen on trying his luck in the Premier League, it is hoped a more sensible figure can be agreed between the clubs.

Wolves also haven’t given up on chief target Roger Johnson, but that deal is deadlogged with Molineux officials unwilling to match Birmingham’s valuation.

Villa’s Richard Dunne and West Ham’s Matthew Upson remain on the radar, but although manager Mick McCarthy is a big fan of both, their ages and wage demands count against them

fester_royal I know we're just holding out for more cash but I really hope the real reason is sjm flipping the finger to that tw*t moxey! I'm all for players moving on to 'develop' as that's football but I hate how we're turning into wolves feeder club

How are we turning into their feeder club? We sold them Kevin Doyle, that's it. Hahnemann left on a free and picked to go there, S.Hunt went to Hull and then to Wolves. Any more now there that left for somewhere else first?

Festerit it will be good development for Mills though...not sure he's ever been in a real relegation battle :D

If Mills wants to leave he's doing a very good job of sucking up to Fans on twitter

DOYLERSAROYALER Svlad....its positioned like the Wolves duo are looking down at Reading saying " be real on the fee,now give us the player "....sabre rattling, bully tactics, call it whatever, but carrying out your transfer negotations in the media is poor anyway ..

Agreed, yes. But as I said, it's not for our benefit, or even part of the negotiations - this'll be for Wolves press and fans.

DOYLERSAROYALER ....i just want to see them stick to their words and walk away to their "other interests" as they have now put in a second bid after saying they would walk away ...

Agreed. But this public blathering will have absolutely zero effect on what is actually happening.

DOYLERSAROYALER as for JM and NH being best mates, well suited....both tossers

I couldn't possibly comment.....

Nothing specific, just how Reading fans are great. He wants his brother to play with him at Reading next season. That sort of thing.

Just basically sounding like he doesn't intend to go anywhere.

Norwich fan at work told me today that Norwich are apparently interested. This is no more likely than any other fan here-say, and I haven't bothered to check their forum, but there you go, just thought I'd share.

Sadly, on this rare occasion the chairman and his grapefeeder have been spared the Tosser label ....I was of course referring to the other tosser on our board.....Howe and his supposed lardy friend Moxey...as you well know anyway ! :D

not convinced that Mills will go - that captains armband could be the determining factor ..

At Wolves, he'll just be another squad/team player and wont have the responsibility he has at Reading - think theres a lot of kudos in being team and now maybe club captain as well ...and I think its that which may sway him to stay at club ...all imho

he wouldn't care about an armband if it meant premier league football and 20k a week.

Wolves have taken many players off us over the years! And although they've only directly brought Doyle their 'following the reading model' seems to becoming quite literal as Mick is rumored to be after players of ours season after season

Im sure all of the Premier league full backs are shi88ing their pants with this statement from the Wolves chairman...

Wolves chairman Steve Morgan today warned the Premier League to beware Stephen Hunt  and Steven Fletcher next season.

Club record £7m signing Fletcher was the team’s 12-goal top scorer in 2010-11, while Hunt proved he is a man for the big occasion by scoring the vital goal to help Wolves stay up on Survival Sunday. But the pair were restricted to 15 and 14 Premier League starts respectively as a combination of different reasons kept the duo, who signed a year ago, sidelined.

Hunt's goal on the last day of the season was a beaut. It's rather pathetic that RFC fans feel the need to mock him because he's a) a bit of a twunt and b) didn't want to be here in his final season.

I'm not great fan of the man for those reasons, but he's quite clearly an asset to any side in the bottom 3rd of the Premiership. Take the blinkers off.
