Royalist A season will not be enough time to fairly judge. 5 years much more likely.

The fanbase will not grow above WEFC levels unless a FA Cup run. There simply is no demand in the town for anything more than 200 fans.

Not read it myself yet but the back page of the Observer has "Fans In Revolt" as the back page!

Excellent!! Anyting that gets people in Windsor talking / reading about Windsor FC is good news as far as I am concerned.

I should imagine it will be the aim of Scott and Stott to get as many back page headlines in the next few weeks as possible, whatever the content.

You must either of read the Kevin Stott PR book, tip his business went bust, or be Keith Scott!

So it starts. Two very passionate fans there. The Son, Dave, comes down from Liverpool to watch the side so clearly loved the club. Sad. And worryingly there isn't a queue of people waiting to replace their cash, time and effort put into the club not just by turning up on match day but at events also.

Hilarious stuff.

...the decision (to appoint Keith Scott) has angered legions of fans and the Observer understands that several committee members could resign in protest.

Legions of fans eh? Excluding family of players we only have about 60 regulars FFS!!

So Keith Scott doesn't talk to the fans much eh? What a bad man. Christ alive - that seems to be the justification to stop supporting the town they've followed for decades? Do me a bloody favour!

Compo's Hat Now this would be a proper away day! Shame Reading town moved leagues.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/9518284.stm

Not sure who would pay for the flights over there though.
according to The NLP some months ago, Guernsey will be funding all opposition travelling expenses.
A great two page spread on Guernsey FC in todays NLP.

SportingBet.com are their major sponsor and will fund all return flights from Gatwick and an overnight stay in a hotel for all of their visiting teams.

What a great thing for the teams of the part-time (and normally unpaid) players of that grass roots league, what will happen, if and when, Guernsey lose that sponsorship might not be quite so romantic tho'

So, fan's forum on Saturday at WFC. Who will have the balls to show up let alone ask any pertinant questions? Now is the time to either put up or shut up.

I'll 'go with the flow' - what would our select little band tucked away here in 'GF' prefer - a shiny new thread or a rename of this one - how does that get done by the way - does it rely on a Mod???

- it is indeed about time I got off my 'Slack Dad' @rse and started posting fixtures since some are out and others are imminent - I was waiting for the Southern League one's since they then generally spawn the local STEP05/06 leagues.

I think they are due v.soon - though Rushden & Diamonds demise and Enfield 1893's ground issues have led to a few more late reprieves: plus once the preliminary draws for the Vase/Cup have been done we ought to be clearer on what's what and where! Last season for example the fellah doing the Wessex Fixtures relased them prematurely then had to re-draft almost the whole of Augusts when the Vase draw was done.

I've read that the Hellenic fixtures might be out next Friday (15th)

... some dates and games have been published from the CCL for Guernsey's first few matches i.e. 6th Aug H v Knaphill - presumably released early cos they are a 'special' case - but they are hardly 'local'. :?

... my eldest lad got excited about them cos he'll be on Alderney then - but it dawned on him that the people he goes to stay with don't like football (they're Scottish :P ) so are unlikely to take him - costs a mint to travel between the CI's too apparently?

...doh! Never occured to me that starting the OP obviously meant 'I had control' in this case!

... will do so if that's what most people prefer??

...for starters (assuming we are carrying on with this one) here's the Cup draws.

http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/NewsAndFe ... -Cup-draws

... bit of a 'belter' at Scours Lane to start with in the FAC!

(trouble is we are at home to the Tykes that PM: 20/08 :| - may need to watch for any possible Fri/Sun KOs)

Well, it was a very positive meeting with a great vibe being emitted from all quarters. Super stuff.

And guess what...? No one "put up".

Despite Keith Scott's public invitation to all doubters to come along and quiz him, there was not one single dissenting voice, not one negative question raised so I think the anti-Scott movement has officially ground to a halt.

Keith Scott and Jim Melvin both came across extremely well, and the quality of players coming to Windsor suggests it could be a very enjoyable season.

Think its because most the people who dislike Scott have washed their hands are just do not give a toss now!

Interesting to see more players signing from higher leagues. Rubbishes the claims of a low budget and at the MOMENT it is clearly not self sustainable which is what everybody wants!

Very interesting that Rother promotes this 'very enjoyable season' ahead and then criticises folk on the Team Board for asking for the same thing.

Windsor need to focus on actually completing a season and not going bust again.
