swansea could be in trouble with the fa after ipswich report them and want a transfer embargo placed on the club.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 49,00.html

Ipswich have reported Swansea to the Premier League and have called for a transfer embargo to be placed on the top flight new boys.

The Portman Road outfit have taken action following non-payment of invoices relating to Tamas Priskin's loan switch to the Swans towards the end of the 2010/11 campaign.

Town feel Swansea have reneged on an agreement struck between their chief executive Simon Clegg and Swans chairman Huw Jenkins relating to the payment of Priskin's wages and in particular to sums owed to them as a result of Swansea's successful promotion bid.

The loan agreement stipulated that Swansea would cover Priskin's wages up to 31st May even though he picked up an injury on 22nd April.

The contract also provided for cumulative payments for each stage of the Championship play-offs, which Swansea ultimately prevailed in.
Hugely disappointed

Commenting on the situation, Clegg told Ipswich's official website: "I am hugely disappointed that a legally binding agreement reached in good faith by both clubs as part of Swansea's final push for promotion is now being disputed.

"I am genuinely delighted for Swansea City and their fans but the attempted re-negotiation and deliberate misinterpretation of agreed terms by their chairman is not fitting for a club which has just secured the ultimate prize in Championship football and with it a £90million windfall.

"Tamas arrived in Swansea fit and became injured whilst under their care. That's football, but contracts have to be honoured and I have absolutely no interest in re-negotiating the agreement.

"As a result of Swansea refusing to pay our invoices, I have reported them to the Premier League, sought an immediate transfer embargo and am now seeking full payment of all outstanding sums with the agreed contractual interest rate of 5 per cent above base."

Reports claiming that Arsenal have signed Ricardo Alvarez. Nothing official and only based on what someone from Palermo has suggested, but the Wikipedia page has already been updated.

amazing bit of business for blackpool. he had a very good first half of last season and is undoubtedly a premier league player, but £8m and add-ons for someone who is free in a years time (?) is outstanding for blackpool. interesting signing for liverpool. i'm yet to be convinced he's good enough for a top 6 premier league team but his passing style will fit in well at anfield.

cmonurz The Times says Steve Bruce has had a joint £12m bid accepted for the United trio of Wes Brown, John O'Shea and Darron Gibson, but players yet to agree terms.. £12m for United deadwood, another good deal for Fergie. Not sure Sunderland are getting much for their money.

i am sure it wasn't long ago at all that Darren Gibson was said to be the future of Man Utd.

Gibson is allright, oshea as well, brown crocked. 12 million though?? Actual value more like 4.5 million, sounds like sunderland are paying too much.

In a market where Long is considered to be worth £7m outright, I think £12m for those 3 players actually represents good value

Wes Brown is the best player of the three but he seems to be constantly injured. O'Shea is steady but I don't rate Gibson all that much. Playing 4-4-2 I think he's too limited to have much of an impact in a mediocre Premiership side, and he now believes his own hype by litterally having a crack whenever he picks the ball up. He won't have the freedom he got at 'United and £12million represents pretty decent business by Ferguson in shipping out some deadwood.

Three fairly decent additions to Steve Bruce's squad but none of them are going to set the world alight there.

Peterborough fans will be disappointed. Despite promotion, they'd accepted that CMS was moving on. For him to be rocking up at another Championship team will make them wonder why he left.

Excellent signing for Leicester though. Really good player. Workrate reminds of Doyle yet CMS is quicker.

'gree with that to a point. Most the competition in the Championship is a bigger club than P'Boro, so it's still very much a step up for CMS. Leicester will be fighting for a place in the Premiership next season while P'Boro will be fighting for their lives in the bottom 1/3 of the table.

Furthermore, he was due to leave at the end of the 09/10 season, but at the last minute the chairman asked him to stay for one extra season, with improved wages and the option to leave unopposed at the end of the campaign just gone. The Posh fans will be happy that he's done his job - he helped get them promotion and he's now able to move onto bigger and better things with their blessings.

sunderland are a mediocre side and i think for £4m a piece have got a bargain for gibson, brown and o'shea. all that experience too. for sunderland these are very good signings and probably the best use of £12m they could have made this summer. they really do need a couple of top strikers though or they face another battle to stay in the premiership.

Liverpool have made enquiries and apparently are prepared to offer O'Shelvey and Darby on loan plus cash for Adam.

Barca, Real, Man City, Chelsea and Makhachkala all bid for Brazilian.

What's the story with him? He does look a bit of a twat.

He was pretty much the reason behind the Santos manager's sacking last season:
