Wolves target Matt Mills has held talks with Reading and has decided against handing in a transfer request.
Mills has 12 months remaining on his current contract and has been offered a brand new deal by Reading, which is thought to be worth up to £20,000-a-week.
With Reading still wanting £4million if Mills decides against signing a new contract and Wolves apparently not willing to budge from £3million, our hopes of signing the 24-year-old defender look unlikely.
However it isn't all bad news.
Sources close to Mills have told the Express & Star that if we can agree a fee, then we are his first choice move.
Previously it wasn't clear who Mills favoured in regards to Stoke, Blackburn and us and yesterday Leicester also made a move for Reading captain.
But if this claim is true then the only sticking point is a fee and once
we've cracked that, Mills should be on his way to Molineux
...is not exactly as if he's spoilt for choice with quality clubs wanting his services ...i guess if he did choose Wolves it would more likely to be because of the distance to and from his pad in Richmond, and not to do with the beautiful game that Wolves play
